TOPIC:  END TIMES TIMING -  IRVIN BAXTER NOTES

THESE NOTES ARE FROM WATCHING REV. IRVIN BAXTER TV SHOW.

Revelation 8:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

During WWII  105127 ships were used.

36387 were sunk  2.88913623 of the total - how close to 1/3 is that?  Closer than any of us probably thought.

The League of Nations was formed in 1819

Now we have the U.N. Global Disarmament

Jesus will not return until the New World Order is firmly in place.

EZEKIEL 36:24-28

The LORD GOD was prophesying to the people.

NOTE:  When the LORD GOD spoke, this was GOOD prophecy

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Israel was reborn in 1948.  They had lost over 11 million Jews during WWII.

600,000 Jews were living in the Promised Land when war broke out and Israel won.

1967 - the 6-day war.

Israel beat Syria, Egypt, and Jordan and increased their land again.

The are now the premier power in the Middle-East.

The land blooms again

Jerusalem was reunited.

In 1981 - the NATIONAL ID was announced - everyone needs a card - The Mark of the Beast -

In 1986 - the 3rd Trumpet of Revelation sounded:

Chernobyl blew up -  Chernobyl means 'wormwood'.

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. (Revelation 8:10, 11)

The third trumpet judgment sounds. God continues to systematically destroy the available natural resources so critical to man’s existence. As He destroyed one third of the oceans and its creatures, now He will destroy one third of the rivers and springs. This will be a fatal blow considering one third of the available drinking water will be contaminated. Although the death toll is unknown, the Bible states that many men will die from drinking this water.

NOTE: Everyone who drank the water after Chernobyl died of cancer within 30 years.

THE BERLIN WALL

Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall was both the physical division between West Berlin and East Germany from 1961 to 1989 and the symbolic boundary between democracy and Communism during the Cold War.

Dates: August 13, 1961 -- November 9, 1989

Rev. 13:3  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Reverend Baxter says:  It was clearly seen in Rev. 13:3 that Germany would be divided and that her deadly wound would be healed.  As these prophecies are fulfilled, the whole world will 'follow' after and beast and be led into 'his' kingdom, which is the One World Government -  (The NEW WORLD ORDER)

THE BEAST IS THE ANTI-CHRIST

On November 9, 1989 - George W.H. Bush, Mikhail Gorbechev, and Pope John Paul 20 days later announced the One World Order.

NOTE: Gorbechev after leaving office moved to America.

November 9th is an important date in our nations history. Twenty one years ago today the Berlin Wall came down. Recent history seems to play down the fact that Ronald Reagan was responsible for this feat more than any other person.

President Ronald Reagan spoke to the people of West Berlin on June 12, 1987. On that day these famous words were spoke, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” as he stood at the base of the Brandenburg Gate, near the Berlin wall. The President’s words were amplified and also heard on the Eastern (Communist-controlled) side of the wall. This address by Ronald Reagan is considered by many to have affirmed the beginning of the end of the Cold War and the fall of communism. The Berlin Wall was breached 21 years ago on November 9, 1989 as the people of a free Berlin tore down that wall.

Ronald Reagan’s “tear down that wall,” address may well be the “Great Communicator’s” best remembered speech. The following is an excerpt from that famous address.

“In the 1950s, Khrushchev predicted: ‘We will bury you.’ But in the West today, we see a free world that has achieved a level of prosperity and well-being unprecedented in all human history. In the Communist world, we see failure, technological backwardness, declining standards of health, even want of the most basic kind–too little food. Even today, the Soviet Union still cannot feed itself. After these four decades, then, there stands before the entire world one great and inescapable conclusion: Freedom leads to prosperity. Freedom replaces the ancient hatreds among the nations with comity and peace. Freedom is the victor.

“And now the Soviets themselves may, in a limited way, be coming to understand the importance of freedom. We hear much from Moscow about a new policy of reform and openness. Some political prisoners have been released. Certain foreign news broadcasts are no longer being jammed. Some economic enterprises have been permitted to operate with greater freedom from state control.

“Are these the beginnings of profound changes in the Soviet state? Or are they token gestures, intended to raise false hopes in the West, or to strengthen the Soviet system without changing it? We welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace. There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace.

“General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!’”

Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, at Buingen Univeristy in Germany, on June 30, 2000 said:

"you could say that globilization started here in Germany, with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the cold war."

    GLOBILIZATION:  One world without borders.

    The 5th Trumpet:  Rev. 9: 1-12

And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given rthe key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.

He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft trose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.

Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth.

They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

They were allowed to torment them zfor five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone.

And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces,

    their hair like women’s hair, and their teeth like lions’ teeth;

they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails.

11 They have ias king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

12 The first woe has passed; behold,

NOTE:  Anyone who had a TV set in1991 will remember the George W.H. Bush war in Kuwait against Saddam Hussein.  It was on TV from one end of the war to the other.

Saddam Hussein set 700 oil wells on fire.  The Sun could not be in Kuwait for three months.

Sadam's name in Arabic means 'destroyer".

In that war, the United Nations allowed 48 nations to go against Saddam.

On May 8, 1995, President George W.H. Bush instituted the National I.D. Card

It was supposed to go into effect on May 11, 2008, but it was postponed.  The States all said, "No!"

On December 31, 2009, again the National I.D. card was postponed because 28 states said, "No!"

Again on December 31, 2011, the National I.D. card was postponed because the states refuses to honor it.

It is still not in effect.

Wyoming today - August 1, 2013 - the State of Wyoming is issuing RFID chaps into their citizens who are on welfare and the elderly.

    DANIEL 2

    Daniel 2

    King James Version (KJV)

And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

    27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

    28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

The LAST DAYS image depicts the 'Feet of Clay' - Heavens Government
The LAST DAYS image represents the 10 Kingdoms which are seen in the 10 toes.

Those 10 Kings will rule the 'one-world government and that's why the Holy Roman Empire is so important.

The Common Market was instituted in 1957
    It then became 12 nations
In 1999 the Euro was created
In 2004 - the common market became 27 nations
Today, the European Union has 500 million people - ruling the Holy Roman Empire - the World's largest economy.
On November 3, 2009, a constitution was written for "The Unites States of Europe" - This was now the name of the Holy Roman Empire.

Charlemagne was the 1st ruler of the Holy Roman Empire

Any country which wants to make application to the European Union must join it at a building in Brussels Belgium.

This building is named "The Charlemagne Building"

They put out a weekly newspaper about the state of the world.  The title of the newspaper page about this is "The Charlemagne Page"

They offer an annual prize of One Million Dollars for the best idea to make the world a better place.

It is called "The Charlemagne Prize".

The Anti-Christ and The Beast will rule from there.

In 2005 - The United Nations authorized a constitution called  "The Responsibility to Protect"

In 2011 - there was an uprising led by Khadaffi.

The United Nations brought up a resolution to get rid of Khadaffi, and President Obama authorized an attack against Khadaffi brought about through NATO.

NATO then killed Khadaffi.  Obama did not have to get authorization from the United States Congress to go to war as Presidents always had before the United Nations instituted "The Responsibility to Protect."

IN THE LARGEST QUAKES - WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT 'TIME' HAD CHANGED!

    REVELATION 9: 13-21 - THE 6TH TRUMPET

13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

There are currently 2.3 billion people living in this area of Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, Iron, and Israel

This is 1/3 of the world population.

The question now is: when will this war start that will kill 1/3 of the world population?

    Why will the war start?

    CONFIRMATION OF THE COVENANT

This is the final agreement that all religions can share the Temple Mount in Jerusalem

    Rev. 11:  1- 2

Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles.

Daniel 9:27a, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…”

Galatians 3:17, “And this I say, [that] the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.”

    What Major Prophetic Events
    Should We Be Bracing For?

Here is a list of prophesied events you should prepare for.

    By Ken Raggio

I wrote the first edition of this chronology in 1997.
I continue to add details as prophetic details unfold.

I personally believe that we should prepare ourselves spiritually, mentally and psychologically for the dramatic events of the final seven years that will bring Jesus Christ back to rule and reign for 1000 years in "the Millennium."

We should brace ourselves for the coming events of Daniel's Seventieth week (described in Daniel 9).

Most people refer to the last seven years as the "Tribulation." That is really a misnomer, however. In reality, the Great Tribulation will not last seven years. The first three-and-a-half years will be relatively peaceful.

The real "Great Tribulation" (a.k.a., "Jacob's Trouble") will take place during the FINAL three-and-a-half years.

Here is the general order of events:

    FIRST HALF OF WEEK

EVENT #1 - The Prince of Rome (the Pope) will confirm a 7-year covenant that will determine the fate of Israel. (Daniel 9:27)

The event that will signify the beginning of the last seven years is the Confirmation of the Covenant mentioned in Daniel 9:27.

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week..." Daniel 9:27.

"One week" in this prophecy is a week of years, or seven years.

Daniel's prophecy specifically says that the Prince of Rome will confirm a seven-year covenant. The Prince of Rome is the evil spirit prince that rules in the heavens over the city of Rome. In the prophecy of Nebuchadnezzar's statue, the Iron and Clay Feet represented the politics (iron) and religion (clay) of ROME. It is the LAST EMPIRE to oppress Israel before Jesus Christ, Israel's Messiah, returns to save them at the battle of Armageddon (Daniel 2:45; Revelation 19:11-21).

The Iron represents the political system of the Europeans tracing back to the founding of the Holy Roman Empire in 800 AD. The Clay represents the Roman Catholic Church. The iron and clay feet of the Holy Roman Empire are the logical extension of the IRON LEGS of the Ancient Roman Empire.

For this reason, we should expect the Roman Catholic Church, in partnership with the principal European nations to PUT INTO FORCE a seven-year agreement that will effect the PROMISED LAND of Israel.

It appears that the Europeans and the Catholics (under pressure from the Arab-Muslim world) will call this shot at the United Nations, and will strong-arm the creation of a Palestinian State, soon followed by the installation of an Assyrian governor in Jerusalem who will eventually be recognizable as the prophesied Man of Sin.

We do not yet know the exact identity of the global power who will negotiate and sign this seven-year peace treaty with Israel. We do know that the prince of Rome will CONFIRM it. (If the declaration of a Palestinian state does not include Rome as a primary signatory, it would not qualify as the Confirmation of the Covenant).

At the time of this writing, the most likely political entity for that role is probably the United Nations' "Quartet," which is a four-headed entity comprised of diplomats from the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia.

These four heads are identical matches for the four beasts that Daniel saw in another prophecy in Daniel 7.

    Quartet
(This photo was taken in 2004. L to R - Jack Straw, Britain; Sergie Lavrov, Russia; Kofi Annan, U.N.; Condoleeza Rice, U.S., Javier Solana, E.U.
A current photo would include the current successors to those diplomats.)

These four high-level diplomats in the "Quartet" are attempting to force Israel into a two-state solution for the land of Palestine, AND demanding that Israel give up major portions of the Holy Promised Land for peace with their enemies, the Arab-Muslim "refugees" of the 1967 war, variously represented by the Palestinian Authority, and the terrorist groups Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and just about every radical Islamic group in the Middle East, including behind-the-scenes subversive factions from Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and even Jordan.

Quartet In this picture, Special Envoy Tony Blair represents Britain, "the mouth of the lion" in prophecy. Hillary Clinton represents the United States, the eagle's wings of Daniel's prophecy (Clinton is now replaced by John Kerry). Ban Ki-moon, represents the United Nations, the Fourth "Dreadful" Beast of Daniel's prophecy. Sergei Lavrov represents Russia, the Bear of prophecy. Katherine Ashton represents the European Union, the four-headed Leopard of prophecy.

These are the beasts that will be responsible for the destruction of Israel as we now know it. Their decisions will force Israel into calamitous circumstances that will lead to the great and final battle of Armageddon.

(For more details about the UN "QUARTET," please read my article about "The Roadmap For Peace.")

Peres Since early 2007, and now at 89 years-old, Shimon Peres has been the President of Israel. This Socialist, Globalist liberal Jew has for years been offering to divide the Promised Land in exchange for peace with the Arab world. He has been trying to do this for decades. The name "Peres" is the same word that the Prophet Daniel saw hand-written on the wall in King Belshazzar's palace.

Daniel 5:28: "PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians (same territory as modern Iran)." The message said, "Your kingdom is divided." Peres [if he lives long enough] may finally accomplish the division of the land that will precipitate a supposed Peace Agreement with the rest of the world.

Because Israel has failed to secure peace with the Palestinians for many decades, the newest plan being foisted by the International Community is for the United Nations to unilaterally declare a Palestinian State. The Palestinian Authority finally succeeded in November of 2012 to ascede to "Non-Member Observer STATE" at the United Nations - not yet a state legally, but most consider it to be a de facto state now.

An article in the Jerusalem Post, (10/28/2010), had warned that President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority would ask the US and United Nations Security Council to recognize a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders if the current round of peace negotiations fail.

Since Israel was founded in 1948, the United States has vetoed every such effort in the United Nations Security Council. But now that Barrack Hussein Obama is the President of the United States, Israel does not have the support it once had from the United States. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton told Fox News that he does not believe the United States will veto the next proposal to declare a Palestinian State. The PA did not apply to the UN Security Council for statehood, to avoid the possibility of a U.S. veto. Instead, they went to the UN General Assembly where they garnered 138 votes out of a total of 193 nations - a 67% majority. That won them "non-member observer STATE."

The Obama administration is likely to allow the Palestinians to declare Statehood in the near future. We may see a Palestinian State in the very near future.

What are the Prophetic implications of a new Palestinian State?

Will that signal the beginning of the last seven years before Armageddon (Daniel's Seventieth Week)?

    Not necessarily.

First of all, if Israel goes back to the 1967 borders (or somewhere close to that), Jerusalem is going to be divided.

When the Prince of Rome confirms a Seven-Year Treaty with the United Nations ("he shall confirm the covenant with many") or a similar international entity (perhaps the Arab League, or the Organisation for Islamic Cooperation [O.I.C.], etc.) regarding the borders of Israel, we might well assume that the last seven years have begun.

EVENT #2. The Man of Sin will cause craft (deception, fraud) to prosper, and will destroy by peace (Daniel 8:25). The Third Temple will be built in Jerusalem.

"By peace," the Man of Sin "will destroy many," (Daniel 8:25). He will "corrupt [his opponents] by flatteries" (Daniel 11:32) during his early reign.

THE LAST HALF OF WEEK - the final 3.5 years.

EVENT #3. The "Man of Sin" will stand in the Third Temple in Jerusalem and commit the Abomination of Desolation by causing the Jewish sacrifices and oblations to cease (according to Daniel 9:27).
In the MIDDLE of those seven-years, the Man of Sin will show himself to be a monster, and will completely betray the peace-pact. He will commit the dreaded Abomination in the Third Jewish Temple that will cause the daily sacrifice and prayers to be abandoned. Jesus warned of it in Matthew 24:15, and Paul warned of it in 2 Thessalonians 2:2.

"...and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate," Daniel 9:27.

The West Bank of Israel will become the scene of another Jewish holocaust. That is why Jesus warned those in Judea to flee the moment they hear of the Abomination.

Jesus warned those who live in the West Bank (Judea) to immediately flee for their lives when they see the Abomination of Desolation, because next is...

EVENT #4. The Great Tribulation, or the time of "Jacob's Trouble" will begin. For 42 months, Israel will undergo the most horrific trial in its entire history (Daniel 12:2, Revelation 11:2).
"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be," Matthew 24:21.

During the last forty-two months, Israel will face the horrific time called "Jacob's trouble" - the most frightening of all Jewish persecutions - according to Daniel 11:2.

According to Revelation 11:2, the Man of Sin will also make war against the SAINTS OF THE CHURCH of Jesus Christ. Both national Israel and the Church will be persecuted for 3 1/2 years.
EVENT #5. The False Prophet (the Pope) will announce the Mark of the Beast in the middle of the last seven years (Revelation 13). With the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI comes the stark reality that the new Pope is extremely likely to be the Pope who will introduce the Mark of the Beast.
In the LAST three-and-a-half years, the second beast of Revelation 13 (The False Prophet - the POPE) will introduce, invoke and enforce the Mark of the Beast upon the global community.

Revelation 13:11,16-17 - "I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. ...And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

Saints should be preparing now for the three and a half years without cash. This is going to require "underground" living - that is, "off the grid" and "without money." The official policy of Big Brother will be to exterminate (kill) those who refuse the Mark. Survival will very likely depend on staying out of sight and out of the way.

This is the reason why I have suggested that people should at least be aware of basic survival tactics. I can show you story after story in the Bible when God's people were forced to practice survival tactics under despotic governments. I do not teach or believe that we should depend on survivalist tactics, but rather have faith in Jesus Christ for our daily bread. I do not teach or believe that we should take up arms against our government, or attempt a revolution against the new world government. What is prophesied is irreversible.

It is not unlikely that the Mark of the Beast will force Christian believers to practice survivalist lifestyles.

You can roast me alive for saying so. Burn me at the stake. Accuse me of doubt, fear and unbelief. Assassinate my character. Black-list me and ostracize me. But don't tell me I didn't warn you. Christians are going to be persecuted, and slandering me is not going to exempt you from that fact.
EVENT #6. The Man of Sin will make war on the Church and prevail for 42 months (Daniel 7:21; Revelation 13:7).
Jerusalem will be divided at that point. The Jews will control the Temple, but everything else on the Temple Mount will be controlled by the Gentiles (Revelation 11:1-2). That will probably mean Palestinian-Arab-Muslim control of the Temple Mount and East Jerusalem under United Nations monitoring.

I strongly suspect that the United Nations will elect a Muslim for the next Secretary-General. See my article, "Antichrist Rising? Will Powerful Islamist Become Next U.N. Secretary-General?"

At that same time, God will also send Two Witnesses to prophesy in Israel for 42 months (Revelation 11:3). They will be Holy Ghost-filled, Apostolic, Jesus' name preachers. Nobody will be able to kill them until three-and-a-half days before the Last Trump (when Jesus returns). They will finally be killed and will lie dead in the streets until they are raised up and raptured with the rest of the saints of God at the Last (Seventh) Trumpet.
EVENT #7. The Sixth Trumpet War and the Fall of Babylon (Revelation 9:13-21; 14:8)

It seems to me that the Sixth Trumpet War is more likely to take place AFTER the Man of Sin commits the Abomination of Desolation for the simple reason that the entire world will be in shambles following the Sixth Trumpet War (One-third of the earth's population will die during that event). Not only that, but Jesus said of the Great Tribulation, "Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, NOR SHALL EVER BE," Matthew 24:21.

For that reason, I believe that the Sixth Trumpet is actually a great part of the Great Tribulation. It is inconceivable to me that the Great Tribulation will be worse than the Sixth Trumpet War, in which one third of human population will die. I don't think the Great Tribulation will come AFTER the Sixth Trumpet. I think that the Sixth Trumpet and the Great Tribulation will be concurrent.

According to the Sixth Trumpet prophecy in Revelation 9, one-third of mankind will die in a war that begins at the Euphrates River. This war is already being staged, and may have already begun. It is escalating as I write. The hostilities will involve the enemies of Israel. The nations through which the Euphrates River flows are already particularly hostile to Israel: Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran (The Euphrates merges with the Tigres along the Iranian border.)

Anyone can see that many other of the nations in that region are likely to be involved as well. Russia and China are likely to be engaged both strategically and tactically, as well as some of the hostile peripheral nations. Please see my extensive article on The Sixth Trumpet War. The hostilities in that region have already been called World War III by many powerful world figures, including Thomas Friedman, Editor of the New York Times, and James Woolsey, former CIA Director.

There is also a prophesied fall of Babylon. That MAY have already occured with the overthrow of the Iraqi government in the Gulf War. But I think that prophecy has much larger, global implications. This could indicate a "meltdown" of International financial order, as in a global economic collapse, resulting in major currency failures, (such as the death of the American dollar, maybe even the death of the Euro dollar) resulting in a new paperless currency, and precipitating the Mark of the Beast.

I personally expect to see a collapse of the old world order (to fulfill the prophecy about Babylon falling - Revelation 14:8), which will be a calamitous event that will necessitate a new economic order/ money system (the Mark of the Beast).

I believe that the Sixth Trumpet War will take place AFTER the Mark of the Beast, for the simple reason that the world will really be in shambles after one-third of its population has been killed, and it will be exceedingly difficult to ramp-up the technology for the Mark of the Beast during such a massive calamity.

The New World Order will impose a dramatic restructuring of all governments and businesses that are not a part of Big Brother's system.

People will be forced to re-adjust their lifestyles to cooperate and participate with the New World Order's "Great Plan." You can expect to see a radically altered banking system, a globalized industrial complex, a globalized military complex, the absence of national sovereignty, and globalized Communism-Socialism (including the United States). See: Socialism: The Scarlet-Red-Beast Prophecy

I speculate that the World Trade Organization (WTO) will become one of the most powerful global political entities. Since the Mark of the Beast system will be primarily economic, the most powerful global organization is likely to be the economic arm of the world government - the WTO, working in tandem with the United Nations Economic and Social Council based in New York (or Geneva). I believe that the World Trade Organization is likely to be the legal entity through which the International Bank for Settlements (in Basel, Switzerland), the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund will finally force-feed a (Verichip-type) RFID-based global currency.

Many of the Islamic nations are NOT MEMBERS of the WTO, and I think this could be the potential conflict that will precipitate the Sixth Trumpet War - the WESTERN ECONOMIC POWERS versus a RUSSIAN-ISLAMIC COALITION. This, I believe, could be the enormous global conflict that will end up killing one-third of the world's population, when the WEST, including Saudi Arabia (SUNNI ISLAM) finally rises up in an attempt to subdue RADICAL (SHIA) ISLAM.

I think the Sixth Trumpet War is likely to be the epic showdown between the New World Order (West + Saudi) against Radical Islam (Iran + Syria + Russia and perhaps China, et al.) in the fiercest war in the history of the world, for total world dominion!! Who will win? Catholic-Capitalism or Communist-Islam?

The Shanghai Collective Organization (SCO) is gaining enormous momentum as a Russian-Communist challenge to NATO. Russia and China have already been practicing war games in the name of "Terror" preparations, but the sober reality is that there is a massive military ambition emerging in the midst of Russia, China and several of the Central Asian countries that are presently hybrids of Communism and Islam (including Iran). It is not far-fetched to assume that Russia and China will be allied with Iran, Syria, and several of their largest CLIENT states in a MAJOR, MAJOR Communist-Islamic showdown with the Catholic-Capitalist West.

After decades of attempting to join the European Union without success, Turkey has recently announced that it is considering joining the S.C.O., which would align the "Assyrian" with Russia and China - a perfect Armageddon coalition.

The Sixth Trumpet War just might be a war between NATO and the SCO.

I do not know for certain which side will be the winner. I believe that the United States will be overtaken by Socialism-Communism. The West will be redefined. Europe will become the mouthpiece for the West, whereas the United States has always been before.

The financial strength of the New World Order will shift AWAY from America into Europe and even China. Europe is soon to feel the upheavals of Islam as it attempts to wrest Europe into its own control. Before Jesus comes, Europe will hate the Roman Catholic Church, and destroy it. "The ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire," Revelation 17:16.

That suggests that Communism-Islam may take the wheel in Europe. Europe may eventually even be led by an Assyrian. I just can't say for sure.

The prophecies reveal that it will be an international army - i.e., the United Nations - that will come against Israel for the final battle of Armageddon. That may be because Islam-Communism will finally take full control of the United Nations, and nobody in the Catholic-Capitalist West remains to defend Israel.

"For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, [this will be the Second Coming of Jesus] as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south," Zechariah 14:2-4.

In the past, the United States would have prevented the United Nations from assaulting Israel, but the United States will eventually abandon Israel (perhaps while Barrack Hussein Obama is in office). Islam seems destined to gain a controlling interest in Europe, but how soon is anybody's guess. Saudi Arabia has recently nominated a Turkish Assyrian, Ekmelidden Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of the O.I.C. (56 Muslim nations) to be the next United Nations Secretary General. If they succeed, the Assyrian who commits the Abomination of Desolation in the Third Temple AND who faces down Jesus Christ at Armageddon could be no less than the UN Secretary General, Ekmelidden Ihsanoglu. I am just speculating at this point.

(Incidentally, because of the Scarlet Red Beast Prophecy, I expect to see a dramatically reduced standard of living in America, including the loss of property ownership. Foreclosures and high taxes ultimately guarantee that. I expect to see acutely reduced transportation. Mass transit will become more and more important; loss of personal liberties and human rights; and highly-restricted monetary and economic policies.)

I base this speculation on the fact that the Bible says the World-Government Beast will be Scarlet Red. That represents Socialism-Communism. I believe that Socialism will become the ruling global political force, dominating the United States and pushing back against Islam. Socialism and economic sanctions, via the Mark of the Beast, (I believe) will be the tool used by the New World Order to subdue Islam as best they can.

Before the Mark of the Beast is finally introduced, you are likely to see a cashless "smart card" system fast-tracked into global use. The entire infrastructure of such system is already in place and ready to be implemented. Verichip Corporation and its successors are waiting in the wings to implant computer chips in everyone's hands, which will be linked to the global banking system as well - truly, the Mark of the Beast!
The SIXTH TRUMPET WAR will cause unspeakable international chaos and devastation. That certainly seems to be SYNONYMOUS, or at least CONCURRENT, with the GREAT TRIBULATION. I am more inclined now than ever to believe that the SIXTH TRUMPET will occur in the last 3 1/2 years before Armageddon.

Armageddon will occur when international armies surround Jerusalem for the final overthrow of Israel, and Jesus Christ comes with all His saints to save Israel.

The Bible teaches that Israel will finally be consumed, immediately before Jesus returns.

In Moses' day, God warned Israel that if they “despise my statutes, ...abhor my judgments, ...not do all my commandments, ...break my covenant,” He would put terror and consumption upon them (Leviticus 26:15). Again, in Deuteronomy 28, He threatened to “consume” them from off the land. The battle of Armageddon will be the last cleansing, performed by Jesus Christ, prior to the restitution of all things (Acts 3:21).

Isaiah 10:17 - “And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.”

    The Consummation Of Israel

In the middle of the week, the Man of Sin will terminate the offerings of sacrifices in the Third Jewish Temple “even until THE CONSUMMATION.” What does that mean? From Joshua's day, God warned, “If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and CONSUME you,” Joshua 24:20. The horrifying events leading to the battle of Armageddon will CONSUME Israel, except for 144,000 divinely-protected Jews. If those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved (Matthew 24:22). At Armageddon, Jesus will save and restore Israel.

Daniel 9:27 - “...he shall make it DESOLATE, even UNTIL THE CONSUMATION.”

EVENT #8. The Wrath of God (Seven Vials of Wrath).

The Saints are "not appointed to" God's wrath at this time. (I Thessalonians 5). That means they will be immune to or protected from the Vials of God's Wrath. If you will notice, none of them apply to the saints. (Remember how Israel was immune to harm when the plagues came upon Egypt in Moses' day.)
VIAL 1. Will be SORES on all who have Mark of the Beast (Revelation 16:2)

VIAL 2. Will be DEATH in the Seas (Revelation 16:3)

VIAL 3. Will be RIVERS turning to Blood because men have shed the blood of saints (Revelation 16:4)

VIAL 4. The SUN will scorch men with fire (Revelation 16:8,9)

VIAL 5. Kingdom of the Beast will be turned to darkness, pain and sores (Revelation 16:10,11)

VIAL 6. The Euphrates River will be dried up to make way for kings of the East. Armies will move into place for Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12). Three spirits like frogs proceed out of the mouth of Satan, the Beast, the False Prophet deceiving the people and working miracles, and gathering them together for Armageddon (16:3)

EVENT #9. The Last Trumpet, (Seventh Trumpet), The Rapture of the Church and the First Resurrection (of the righteous dead) (Rev. 20:4,5 Rev. 19:9)
Jesus will come as a thief (to the unprepared, but not to the righteous) (16:15,16) All these facts seem to imply that the Church will still be on earth, nevertheless exempt and protected, during the first six vials of God's wrath.

Please see my article, When Will the Rapture and First Resurrection Take Place?

VIAL 7. A great earthquake signals the beginning of the Battle of Armageddon. Voices, thunders, lightning, greatest earthquake ever.

Mystery Babylon (Rome, the Vatican, and the Roman Catholic Church) will be violently destroyed. This will be one of the most cataclysmic events in the history of the world.

Rome will be utterly destroyed, divided into three parts by massive earthquakes and fire from God (16:17-21 and chapter 18). It will NEVER be inhabited again.

Cities around the earth will fall as the earth heaves under the wrath of God. This will occur immediately before Jesus Christ returns for the great and final battle of Armageddon.

Before God sends earthquakes and fire, the Ten Horns (yet-unknown Kings) will receive power one hour with the Beast to make war with the Lamb (Revelation 17:12-14)

The Ten Horns will hate the Whore (Roman Catholic Church) "and make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth," (Revelation 17:16-18).

The Judgment of the Great Whore, Mystery Babylon falls (Revelation 17,18)

So Rome will first be assaulted by raging enemies, even before the wrath of God from heaven falls on Rome.

Mystery Babylon will fall (read Revelation 18), when Jesus Christ returns.

Between now and then, there will be massive changes in the Vatican. There is a world-wide expectation of a soon-coming "evil Pope" who will overthrow the present Catholic hierarchy. The Harlot Church will be betrayed and destroyed, possibly from within.

When the Seventh Vial of the Wrath of God is poured out, the Ten Kings of the New World Order will hate the Whore and set out to destroy it. The Catholic Church at Rome will be destroyed, according to this prophecy. I strongly suspect that the Ten Horns will be the leaders of ten European nations (perhaps the Western European Union) BUT they will be heavily influenced, if not CONTROLLED, by ISLAM!! Islam in Europe is gaining power by leaps and bounds, even as I write this. A ten-king Islamic European power will HATE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH and DESTROY IT. That is how I see it coming.

It will all come to a resolution with Jesus Christ comes to intervene at Armageddon.

The False Prophet (the Pope) will survive the calamity, only to be personally cast bodily into the lake of fire by the angels of Jesus Christ at that time.
EVENT #10. The Second Coming of Jesus with his saints from the Eastern skies to the Eastern Gate of the Temple Mount, arriving at the Mount of Olives and the Valley of Kidron/Jehoshaphat.

A massive earthquake will occur, and the worst battle of all times will begin: Ezekiel's War (ch. 38,39) which culminates as the Battle of Armageddon.

The dead bodies of kings and generals will become the Supper of the Great God (fowls eat the flesh of kings) (Revelation 19:17-19).

EVENT #11. Ezekiel's War / Armageddon will be fought and won by Jesus Christ (Ezekiel 38 & 39)

The Beast and False Prophet will be cast into hell, and Satan will be bound 1000 years (Revelation 20)

EVENT #12. Jesus will enter Jerusalem and establish His kingdom there for 1000 years in a fully-reclaimed Holy Land, with expanded boundaries to include everything originally promised to Abraham and Moses from antiquity (Ezekiel 40-48). He will rule the entire world, having Jerusalem as His international headquarters. Gentile Saints will rule and reign as Kings and Priests in all the nations of the world for 1000 years.

    IN A NUTSHELL:

The Rapture and First Resurrection will take place almost concurrently with the Seventh Seal, the Seventh Trumpet and the Seventh Vial.

They all converge for a singular conclusion.

Jesus taught that the SAME DAY Noah entered into the Ark the rain began.

Jesus said that the SAME DAY that Lot fled Sodom and Gomorrah, the fire fell.

So... the SAME DAY the Rapture takes place, the Battle of Armageddon will begin!

The saints who were just resurrected will immediately return to earth with Jesus Christ to participate with Him in this glorious event in Jerusalem.

    THE MILLENNIUM

EVENT #13. 1000-year Reign of Jesus on earth with the Saints as Kings and Priests

EVENT #14. Satan will be loosed for short time, and will attempt to launch another War. But he will fail. Instead, Satan will be cast into hell for eternity.

    THE END

EVENT #15. The Earth and the firmaments will melt with a fervent heat (1 Peter 3:10-12)
    Time shall be no more.

EVENT #16. The New Heaven and the New Earth, the New Jerusalem, and the Eternal Kingdom of God will be revealed.

Are YOU getting ready? May I humbly suggest that you put all your personal and private agendas on the back burner and take a brutally honest inventory of where you stand in preparedness for these exciting but apocalyptic events?

Our PHYSICAL safety and well-being are secondary issues to our SPIRITUAL safety and well-being. These prophecies deserve our utmost attention and utmost efforts in preparation for the most revolutionary time in the history of mankind.

You and I owe it to ourselves and our families to set the highest priorities for both saving our souls and our hides.

"What must I do to be saved?"

John 3:5 - "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Acts 2:38 - "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Find a church that preaches and practices the whole Apostolic Doctrine, obey Acts 2:38, and live a holy, Godly life until Jesus comes.

Obama covers a long list of topics in his speech to Israeli students and other citizens in Jerusalem.
Below is President Obama's speech to the Israeli people, Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Shalom. It is an honor to be here with you in Jerusalem, and I am so grateful for the welcome that I have received from the people of Israel. I bring with me the support of the American people, and the friendship that binds us together.

Over the last two days, I have reaffirmed the bonds between our countries with Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Peres. I have borne witness to the ancient history of the Jewish people at the Shrine of the Book, and I have seen Israel’s shining future in your scientists and entrepreneurs. This is a nation of museums and patents, timeless holy sites and ground-breaking innovation. Only in Israel could you see the Dead Sea Scrolls and the place where the technology on board the Mars Rover originated. But what I’ve looked forward to the most is the ability to speak directly to you, the Israeli people, especially so many young people, about the history that brought us here today, and the future that you will make in the years to come.

Now I know that in Israel’s vibrant democracy, every word and gesture is carefully scrutinized. But just so you know, any drama between me and my friend Bibi over the years was just a plot to create material for
    Eretz Nehederet.

I also know that I come to Israel on the eve of a sacred holiday – the celebration of Passover. And that is where I would like to begin today. Just a few days from now, Jews here in Israel and around the world will sit with family and friends at the Seder table, and celebrate with songs, wine and symbolic foods. After enjoying Seders with family and friends in Chicago and on the campaign trail, I’m proud to have brought this tradition into the White House. I did so because I wanted my daughters to experience the Haggadah, and the story at the center of Passover that makes this time of year so powerful.

It is a story of centuries of slavery, and years of wandering in the desert; a story of perseverance amidst persecution, and faith in God and the Torah. It is a story about finding freedom in your own land. For the Jewish people, this story is central to who you have become. But it is also a story that holds within it the universal human experience, with all of its suffering and salvation. It is a part of the three great religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – that trace their origins to Abraham, and see Jerusalem as sacred. And it is a story that has inspired communities around the globe, including me and my fellow Americans.

In the United States – a nation made up of people who crossed oceans to start anew – we are naturally drawn to the idea of finding freedom in our land. To African-Americans, the story of the Exodus told a powerful tale about emerging from the grip of bondage to reach for liberty and human dignity – a tale that was carried from slavery through the civil rights movement. For generations, this promise helped people weather poverty and persecution, while holding on to the hope that a better day was on the horizon. For me personally, growing up in far-flung parts of the world and without firm roots, it spoke to a yearning within every human being for a home.

Of course, even as we draw strength from the story of God’s will and His gift of freedom expressed on Passover, we know that here on Earth we must bear our responsibilities in an imperfect world. That means accepting our measure of sacrifice and struggle, and working – through generation after generation – on behalf of that ideal of freedom. As Dr. Martin Luther King said on the day before he was killed – “I may not get there with you. But I want you to know that… we, as a people, will get to the promised land.” So just as Joshua carried on after Moses, the work goes on – for justice and dignity; for opportunity and freedom.

For the Jewish people, the journey to the promise of the State of Israel wound through countless generations. It involved centuries of suffering and exile, prejudice, pogroms and even genocide. Through it all, the Jewish people sustained their unique identity and traditions, as well as a longing to return home. And while Jews achieved extraordinary success in many parts of the world, the dream of true freedom finally found its full expression in the Zionist idea – to be a free people in your homeland.

That is why I believe that Israel is rooted not just in history and tradition, but also in a simple and  profound idea: the idea that people deserve to be free in a land of their own. And over the last 65 years, when Israel has been at its best, Israelis have demonstrated that responsibility does not end when you reach the promised land, it only begins.

And so Israel has been a refuge for the diaspora – welcoming Jews from Europe to the former Soviet Union; from Ethiopia to North Africa.

Israel has built a prosperous nation – through kibbutzeem that made the desert bloom, business that broadened the middle class, and innovators who reached new frontiers – from the smallest microchip to the orbits of space.

Israel has established a thriving democracy – with a spirited civil society, proud political parties, a tireless free press, and a lively public debate – lively may even be an understatement.

And Israel has achieved this even as it has overcome relentless threats to its security – through the courage of the Israel Defense Forces, and a citizenry that is resilient in the face of terror.

This is the story of Israel. This is the work that has brought the dreams of so many generations to life. And every step of the way, Israel has built unbreakable bonds of friendship with the United States of America.

Those ties began only eleven minutes after Israeli independence, when the United States was the first nation to recognize the State of Israel. As President Truman said in explaining his decision to recognize Israel, “I believe it has a glorious future before it not just as another sovereign nation, but as an embodiment of the great ideals of our civilization”

Since then, we have built a friendship that advances our shared interests. Together, we share a commitment to security for our citizens and the stability of the Middle East and North Africa. Together, we share a focus on advancing economic growth around the globe, and strengthening the middle class within our countries. Together, we share a stake in the success of democracy.

But the source of our friendship extends beyond interests, just as it has transcended political parties and individual leaders. America is a nation of immigrants. We are strengthened by diversity. We are enriched by faith. We are governed not simply by men and women, but by laws. We are fueled by entrepreneurship and innovation. And we are defined by a democratic discourse that allows each generation to re-imagine and renew our union once more. So in Israel, we see values that we share, even as we recognize what makes us different.

Yet I stand here today mindful that for both our nations, these are complicated times. We have difficult issues to work through within our own countries, and we face danger and upheaval in the world. When I look at young people within the United States, I think about the choices that they must make in their lives to define who we will be as a nation in this 21st century, particularly as we emerge from two wars and a painful recession. No matter how great the challenges are, their idealism, their energy, and their ambition always gives me hope.

I see the same spirit in the young people here today. And given the ties between our countries, I believe your future is bound to ours. So I’d like to focus on how we can work together to make progress in three areas that will define our times: security, peace, and prosperity.

I will begin with security. I am proud that the security relationship between the United States and Israel has never been stronger: more exercises between our militaries, and more exchanges among our political, military and intelligence officials than ever before; the largest program to date to help you retain your qualitative military edge. Those are the facts. But to me, this is not simply measured on the balance sheet. I know that here, in Israel, security is something personal. So let me tell you what I think about when I consider these issues.

When I consider Israel’s security, I think about children like Osher Twito, who I met in Sderot – children, the same age as my own daughters, who went to bed at night fearful that a rocket would land in their bedroom simply because of who they are and where they live. That’s why we’ve invested in the Iron Dome system to save countless lives – because those children deserve to sleep better at night. That’s why we have made it clear, time and again, that Israel cannot accept rocket attacks from Gaza, and have stood up for Israel’s right to defend itself. And that’s why Israel has a right to expect Hamas to renounce violence and recognize Israel’s right to exist.

I think about five Israelis who boarded a bus in Bulgaria, who were blown up because of where they came from; who were robbed of the ability to live, and love, and raise families. That’s why every country that values justice should call Hezbollah what it truly is – a terrorist organization. Because the world cannot tolerate an organization that murders innocent civilians, stockpiles rockets to shoot at cities, and supports the massacre of men, women and children in Syria.

The fact that Hezbollah’s ally – the Assad regime – has stockpiles of chemical weapons only heightens the urgency. We will continue to cooperate closely to guard against that danger. And I have made it clear to Bashar al-Assad and all who follow his orders: we will not tolerate the use of chemical weapons against the Syrian people or the transfer of these weapons to terrorists. The world is watching, and we will hold you accountable.

America will also insist that the Syrian people have the right to be freed from the grip of a dictator who would rather kill his own people than relinquish power. Assad must go so that Syria’s future can begin. Because true stability in Syria depends upon establishing a government that is responsive to its people – one that protects all communities within its borders, while making peace with countries beyond them.

When I consider Israel’s security, I also think about a people who have a living memory of the Holocaust, faced with the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iranian government that has called for Israel’s destruction. It’s no wonder Israelis view this as an existential threat. But this is not simply a challenge for Israel – it is a danger for the entire world, including the United States. It would raise the risk of nuclear terrorism, undermine the non-proliferation regime, spark an arms race in a volatile region, and embolden a government that has shown no respect for the rights of its own people or the responsibilities of nations.

That is why America has built a coalition to increase the cost to Iran of failing to meet their obligations. The Iranian government is now under more pressure than ever before, and that pressure is increasing. It is isolated. Its economy is in a dire condition. Its leadership is divided. And its position – in the region, and the world – has only grown weaker.

All of us have an interest in resolving this issue peacefully. Strong and principled diplomacy is the best way to ensure that the Iranian government forsakes nuclear weapons. Moreover, peace is far more preferable to war, and the inevitable costs – and unintended consequences – that would come with it. Because of the cooperation between our governments, we know that there remains time to pursue a diplomatic resolution. That is what America will do – with clear eyes – working with a world that is united, and with the sense of urgency that is required.

But Iran must know this time is not unlimited. And I have made the position of the United States of America clear: Iran must not get a nuclear weapon. This is not a danger that can be contained. As President, I have said to the world that all options are on the table for achieving our objectives. America will do what we must to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran.

For young Israelis, I know that these issues of security are rooted in an experience that is even more fundamental than the pressing threat of the day. You live in a neighborhood where many of your neighbors have rejected your right to exist. Your grandparents had to risk their lives and all they had to make a place for themselves in this world. Your parents lived through war after war to ensure the survival of the Jewish state. Your children grow up knowing that people they have never met hate them because of who they are, in a region that is changing underneath your feet.

So that is what I think about when Israel is faced with these challenges – that sense of an Israel that is surrounded by many in this region who reject it, and many in the world who refuse to accept it. That is why the security of the Jewish people in Israel is so important – because it can never be taken for granted. But make no mistake: those who adhere to the ideology of rejecting Israel’s right to exist might as well reject the earth beneath them and the sky above, because Israel is not going anywhere. Today, I want to tell you – particularly the young people – that so long as there is a United States of America,
    Ah-tem lo lah-vahd.

The question, then, is what kind of future Israel will look forward to. And that brings me to the subject of peace.

I know Israel has taken risks for peace. Brave leaders – Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Rabin –reached treaties with two of your neighbors. You made credible proposals to the Palestinians at Annapolis. You withdrew from Gaza and Lebanon, and then faced terror and rockets. Across the region, you have extended a hand of friendship, and too often have been confronted with the ugly reality of anti-Semitism. So I believe that the Israeli people do want peace, and you have every right to be skeptical that it can be achieved.

But today, Israel is at a crossroads. It can be tempting to put aside the frustrations and sacrifices that come with the pursuit of peace – particularly when an Iron Dome repels rockets, barriers keep out suicide bombers, and so many other pressing issues demand your attention. And I know that only Israelis can make the fundamental decisions about your country’s future.

I also know that not everyone in this hall will agree with what I have to say about peace. I recognize that there are those who are not simply skeptical about peace, but question its underlying premise, and that’s a part of democracy and the discourse between our two countries. But it is important to be open and honest with one another. Politically, given the strong bipartisan support for Israel in America, the easiest thing for me to do would be to put this issue aside, and express unconditional support for whatever Israel decides to do. But I want you to know that I speak to you as a friend who is deeply concerned and committed to your future, and I ask you to consider three points.

First, peace is necessary. Indeed, it is the only path to true security. You can be the generation that permanently secures the Zionist dream, or you can face a growing challenge to its future. Given the demographics west of the Jordan River, the only way for Israel to endure and thrive as a Jewish and democratic state is through the realization of an independent and viable Palestine. Given the frustration in the international community, Israel must reverse an undertow of isolation. And given the march of technology, the only way to truly protect the Israeli people is through the absence of war – because no wall is high enough, and no Iron Dome is strong enough, to stop every enemy from inflicting harm.

This truth is more pronounced given the changes sweeping the Arab World. I recognize that with the uncertainty in the region – people in the streets, changes in leadership, the rise of non-secular parties in politics –it is tempting to turn inward. But this is precisely the time to respond to the wave of revolution with a resolve for peace. As more governments respond to popular will, the days when Israel could seek peace with a handful of autocratic leaders are over. Peace must be made among peoples, not just governments. No one step can change overnight what lies in the hearts and minds of millions. But progress with the Palestinians is a powerful way to begin, while sidelining extremists who thrive on conflict and division.

Second, peace is just. There is no question that Israel has faced Palestinian factions who turned to terror, and leaders who missed historic opportunities. That is why security must be at the center of any agreement. And there is no question that the only path to peace is through negotiation. That is why, despite the criticism we’ve received, the United States will oppose unilateral efforts to bypass negotiations through the United Nations.

But the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and justice must also be recognized. Put yourself in their shoes – look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a Palestinian child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day. It is not just when settler violence against Palestinians goes unpunished.  It is not right to prevent Palestinians from farming their lands; to restrict a student’s ability to move around the West Bank; or to displace Palestinian families from their home. Neither occupation nor expulsion is the answer. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, Palestinians have a right to be a free people in their own land.

Only you can determine what kind of democracy you will have. But remember that as you make these decisions, you will define not simply the future of your relationship with the Palestinians – you will define the future of Israel as well. As Ariel Sharon said, “It is impossible to have a Jewish, democratic state and at the same time to control all of Eretz Israel. If we insist on fulfilling the dream in its entirety, we are liable to lose it all.” Or, from a different perspective, think of what David Grossman said shortly after losing his son, as he described the necessity of peace – “a peace of no choice” he said, “must be approached with the same determination and creativity as one approaches a war of no choice.”

Of course, Israel cannot be expected to negotiate with anyone who is dedicated to its destruction. But while I know you have had differences with the Palestinian Authority, I believe that you do have a true partner in President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad. Over the last few years, they have built institutions and maintained security on the West Bank in ways that few would have imagined a decade ago. So many Palestinians – including young people – have rejected violence as a means of achieving their aspirations.

Which leads to my third point: peace is possible. I know it doesn’t seem that way. There will always be a reason to avoid risk, and there’s a cost for failure. There will always be extremists who provide an excuse to not act. And there is something exhausting about endless talks about talks; the daily controversies, and grinding status quo.

Negotiations will be necessary, but there is little secret about where they must lead – two states for two peoples. There will be differences about how to get there, and hard choices along the way. Arab States must adapt to a world that has changed. The days when they could condemn Israel to distract their people from a lack of opportunity are over. Now is the time for the Arab World to take steps toward normalized relations with Israel. Meanwhile, Palestinians must recognize that Israel will be a Jewish state, and that Israelis have the right to insist upon their security. Israelis must recognize that continued settlement activity is counterproductive to the cause of peace, and that an independent Palestine must be viable– that real borders will have to be drawn. I’ve suggested principles on territory and security that I believe can be the basis for talks. But for the moment, put aside the plans and process. I ask you, instead, to think about what can be done to build trust between people.

Four years ago, I stood in Cairo in front of an audience of young people. Politically, religiously, they must seem a world away. But the things they want – they’re not so different from you. The ability to make their own decisions; to get an education and a good job; to worship God in their own way; to get married and have a family. The same is true of the young Palestinians that I met in Ramallah this morning, and of young Palestinians who yearn for a better life in Gaza.

That is where peace begins – not just in the plans of leaders, but in the hearts of people; not just in a carefully designed process, but in the daily connections that take place among those who live together in this land, and in this sacred city of Jerusalem. Speaking as a politician, I can promise you this: political leaders will not take risks if the people do not demand that they do. You must create the change that you want to see.

I know this is possible. Look to the bridges being built in business and civil society by some of you here today. Look at young people who have not yet learned a reason to mistrust, and those who have learned to overcome a legacy of mistrust that they inherited from their parents because of the simple recognition that we hold more hopes in common than the fear that drives us apart. Your voices must be louder than the extremists who would drown them out. Your hopes must light the way forward. Look to a future in which Jews, Muslims and Christians can all live in peace and greater prosperity in this Holy Land. Look to the future that you want for your own children – a future in which a Jewish, democratic state is protected and accepted, for this time and for all time.

There will be many voices that say this change is not possible. But remember this: Israel is the most powerful country in this region. Israel has the unshakeable support of the most powerful country in the world. Israel has the wisdom to see the world as it is, but also the courage to see the world as it should be. Ben Gurion once said, “In Israel, in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles.” Sometimes, the greatest miracle is recognizing that the world can change. After all, that is a lesson that the world learned from the Jewish people.

That brings me to the final area I will focus on: prosperity, and Israel’s broader role in the world. I know that all the talk about security and peace can seem distant from other concerns that you have in your daily lives. And every day, even amidst the threats you face, Israelis are defining themselves by the opportunities you create.

Through talent and hard work, Israelis have put this small country at the forefront of the global economy. Israelis understand the value of education, and have produced 10 Nobel laureates. Israelis understand the power of invention, and your universities educate engineers and inventors. That spirit has led to economic growth and human progress: solar power and electric cars; bandages and prosthetic limbs that save lives; stem cell research and new drugs that treat disease; cell phones and computer technology that change the way we live. If people want to see the future of the world economy, they should look at Tel Aviv: home to hundreds of start-ups and research centers. And Israelis are so active on social media that every day seemed to bring a different Facebook campaign about where I should give this speech.

That innovation is just as important to the relationship between the United States and Israel as our security cooperation. Our first free trade agreement in the world was reached with Israel nearly three decades ago, and today the trade between our two countries is at 40 billion dollars each year. More importantly, that partnership is creating new products and medical treatments, and pushing new frontiers of science and exploration.

That is the kind of relationship that Israel should have – and could have – with every country in the world. Already, we see how that innovation could reshape this region. One program here in Jerusalem brings together young Israelis and Palestinians to learn vital skills in technology and business. An Israeli and Palestinian have started a venture capital fund to finance Palestinian start-ups. Over 100 high-tech companies have found a home on the West Bank, which speaks to the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of the Palestinian people.

One of the great ironies of what is happening in the broader region is that so much of what people are yearning for – education and entrepreneurship; the ability to start a business without paying a bribe, to connect to the global economy – those things can be found in Israel. This should be a hub for thriving regional trade, and an engine of opportunity. And this is already a center for innovation that helps power the global economy. I believe that all of that potential for prosperity can be enhanced with greater security, and a lasting peace.

Here, in this small strip of land that has been the center of so much tragedy and triumph, Israelis have built something that few could imagine sixty-five years ago. Tomorrow, I will pay tribute to that history – at the grave of Herzl, a man who had the foresight to see that the future of the Jewish people had to be reconnected to their past; at the grave of Rabin, who understood that Israel’s victories in war had to be followed by battles for peace; and at Yad Vashem, where the world is reminded of the cloud of evil that can descend on the Jewish people and all of humanity if we fail to remain ever vigilant.

We bear that history on our shoulders, and we carry it in our hearts. Today, as we face the twilight of Israel’s founding generation, you – the young people of Israel – must now claim the future. It falls to you to write the next chapter in the story of this great nation.

As the President of a country that you can count on as your greatest friend, I am confident that you can help us find the promise in the days that lie ahead. And as a man who has been inspired in my own life by that timeless calling within the Jewish experience –
tikkun olam – I am hopeful that we can draw upon what’s best in ourselves to meet the challenges that will come; to win the battles for peace in the wake of so much war; and to do the work of repairing this world. May God bless you, and may God bless Israel and the United States of America. Toda raba.
