TOPIC: DREAMING OF DEAD PEOPLE.
NOTE FROM DEE: I don't think dreaming of dead people is all that unusual because I've always dreamed of people who had passed on before me.
That said, some people in my past don't up very often. For example: I've dreamt of my grandmother twice in my whole life, and I've only dreamt of my Grandfather twice - and these dreams were all in recent years - not earlier when I thought about them more often.
My parents are also deceased, and I came to realize that dreaming of my Father meant 'God' to me, because that is what he was like to me, very firm and dictatorial. (No disrepect meant) Once in awhile I dream of my Mother being with him, but not very often. I usually dream of Mother separately.
Joe would said that dreaming of Mother represents Binah on the Tree of Life, but I know when I'm dreaming of my real life Mother because of the dream content.
But below, we will let Joe speak for himself:
The first comment is from a woman on our dream list: email@example.com
This is very interesting Joe, thanks for your work. I was not aware of the association of the Owl to the Age of Iron.
A few years ago, I accidentally sat on a cast iron own candle holder that was concealed beneath a blanket. I will never forget that because I could barely sit down for a couple of weeks afterward. I was so angry I tossed the owl away, wanting never to see it again to be reminded of the pain. LOL!
Here's what I found combining "age of iron" with owl on google. Athena is very meaningful to me. Maybe I should consider the event a type of "informal" initiation of sorts. hehe

ORACLE OF THE GODDESS PALLAS ATHENA
Priest Hierophant: (Invocation of the Goddess) Pallas Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, come to Your Daughter now that she may be inspired by Thy Divine Spirit! Endow us with Thy Wisdom and Thy Might that Thy ancient glories may once more shine before the world!
Oracle: (through Priestess Hierophant) It has been written that the Iron Age should prevail over the earth bringing with it suffering, toil and evil, through neglect of the Deities. Its darkness is not the holy night of the Owl of Wisdom, but the limitation of ignorance. Its light is the transient glow that comes from superficial knowledge gained from curious, probing, rather than the spiritual illumination that emanates from the Deities. It was not necessary for the world of men to choose the Age of Iron; but destiny that the choice be offered. For what goodness is there in worshipping the Gods and Goddesses when They reveal Themselves easily to all? It is simple to satisfy curiosity, but the labour of years of experience to gain wisdom! Sentiment is pleasant but passing: the warmth of love is ever-renewing.
Understand the meaning of what I am, and you will gain comprehension of your own lives and destiny. I am not divided against Myself: Bright Pallas with her Spear of Light does not war with the Dark Owl of Night. Nor do the terrible flames of the Inner Sun that are Veiled upon My shield attack Athena, the Teacher of philosophy and the arts. I am Holy. Be Ye Holy. Be at peace within yourselves and cease from your philosophical warring! In verity the catastrophes of the Iron Age are due to deep division between mortals and the Deities; between mankind and nature; and between differing ideas which are but the quivering reflections of absolute truth.
The veil upon My Shield is beginning to wear thin, and the glory of the Rays of Medusa become apparent to earthly gaze! The inner power of the atom has been violently exposed, and reduces the physical body to the shadow which in verity it is. My Spear of Light brings Divine Inspiration to the mind, while My Owl carries messages of warning from the dark Rulers of the universe, which will be known to be what it is: whole and perfect. On your troubled earth mortals struggle and learn through harsh experience to, put on Immortality; which in truth is latent in each creature. A bird knows more of Elysium than doth mankind! Do not reject any aspect of the universe, but recognise it as part of a glorious pleroma in which even suffering and evil are transformed through wisdom into good. Listen for My Voice. I speak in the silence.
(N.B. The Priestess Hierophant may channel an Oracle through trance)
Priestess Hierophants wear crowns and hold sistrums in Ankh form. Priest Hierophants wear Egyptian mitres and hold crooks. All wear pectorals. Magi wear star robes, Maga star crowns, Magus, star head-dresses. Companions wear robes in colours of the Lyceum and lamens of the Lyceum symbol. Psychopompos wears the insignia of Hermes and bears the Caduceus. Guardian as Anubis by doors. Altar with lighted candles, incense, oil, nearby are candidate's crown or mitre, pectoral, sistrum or crook. Outside temple door stands the candidate in priestly attire save for headdress and wand/staff, with two priestesses and two priests.

Subject: [greatdreams-forum] Re: dreams of dead people again
Cassie's recent dream of dead people (below) seems to fit well with
several themes I have followed over the years. The latest part about that dream
-- the two broken vases being owls -- made a big connection to a key dream
of a young man -- apparently indicating Lilith, the first wife of Adam, who
is associated with the owl. This ancient Babylonian relief image is
arguably, Lilith, standing between two big owls --
It is call the Burney Relief --
It may represent Istar or another feminine deity. In any case, I think the
basic message is similar. The implications about the Earth changes are
The young man reported that he dreamed of being in his back yard at night.
A giant owl, about four feet tall, was standing before him. In a woman's
voice, she said, "I will be there to get you at 11:11.
After waking up, he did a search and found our pages about the 11:11
coincidences. When he saw that many people have been reporting extreme
coincidences of seeing 11:11 on clocks and such, he began to cry.
For over twenty years, I have noted the many dreams, myths, and religions
that indicate a "problem" with the feminine aspect during our time cycle
(Kali Yuga, Age of Iron). It became more and more supported over time in many
One of the first coincidences started with writing a dream-based
speculation that Adam and Eve represent one person (human prototype) with a large
male rational aspect and a small, rib-sized, feminine intuitive/dreaming
aspect. Weeks later, I found the same interpretation in the Gnostic Gospels,
written over 1600 years ago. I later found that H.P. Blavatsky made the same
point -- that Adam/Eve represent the "first androgen."
Much later, I learned of Lilith, who was equal to Adam in the beginning. He
rejected her, after which she was perceived as a demonic Screech Owl type.
Ishtar (or Inanna) made a descent into the Underworld, where she lost her
power (apparently relating to the seven chakras). She was later rescued,
and returned up the Ladder of Lights to become Queen of Heaven once again. I
referenced that story from this page about crop circles --
This is the link to the story --
A dream of mine indicated that Ishtar is still down in the Underworld
(perhaps the collective unconscious) and we must ressucitate her. In that way,
we give her "more coffee" (symbolically, the wake-up substance).
Dee and I discussed Cassie's recent dream of dead people, and agreed that
it seems to fit with some ideas about the Tree of Life. I will review here
some of the ideas I have had about dreams that seem related to the Tree of
Life. I apologize to those who already know these things -- I need to
approach this as if you know little about the connections.
The Tree also represents the chakras. The chakras are sometimes represented
in dreams as flowers, or circular things, such as bicycles, vehicles, and
dishes. The chakras, of course, are also color coded. Something like this
This site explains many details about the Tree of Life --
Just click on a sphere or a path to find information. The spheres (called
sephiroth or Sephirot) are considered vessels. As Dee pointed out, the word
"Shevirah" means "Shattering of the Vessels" --
To me, various Kabbalistic ideas help explain the "script' of our 'stage
play" as imaged in the "great dreams" of today. Repairing the Tree (and our
world) is called "Tikkun olam."
The Left (Judgment) Pillar of the Tree represents the feminine. It is
associated with the Hebrew letters DN, which can relate to names like Dan,
Daniel, Dinah, Don, Donna, and the like. This also relates to the Tribe of Dan
and to Scorpio and scorpions. These symbols do appear in dreams.
The Right (Mercy) Pillar represents the masculine. Symbols of that side
include the Valentine's Day heart, and other heart-related symbols. The Right
Pillar may be considered "warm-hearted," as opposed to the Left Pillar as
"cold-hearted." The relative warmth or cold in dreams seem to relate.
Christmas and Jesus also seem to represent the Right Pillar.
The Middle (Mildness) Pillar represents a balance between the Left and
Right Pillars. That position is the ideal. Reference "Goldilocks and The Three
View the Tree of Life like a mirror image, so that the Left and Right
gender assignments and other associations, are reversed within us -- that is,
our left brain is masculine (rational thinking) and our right brain is
feminine (dreaming intuitive). An example of this mirroring, I believe, is that
men tend to be more judgmental and women more forgiving. And, women
generally tend to be more intuitive than men.
We see the same basics in our politics with republican conservatives on the
right and democratic liberals on the left. This also corresponds to Old
Testament (eye for and eye) and New Testament (turn the other cheek).
In the "Final Judgment" given in Matthew 25, the sheep and goats (us) are
separated right and left, depending on how we have treated "the least of
these" -- which seems to be the mirror view. We say republicans are "right
wing" and democrats "left wing." (and both sides sometimes refer to the other
as "wing nuts! :-)
Dee and I think that we actually judge ourselves. When (symbolically) our
hearts are weighed against the feather (truth and moral order) in the
Judgment Hall, the outcome depends on whether we feel light-hearted or
heavy-hearted about our life. If we feel heavy-hearted, another incarnation is
apparently needed (symbolized by being swallowed by the karmic beast).
One of the results of the "shattering of the vessels" was that the feminine
Judgment Pillar became too strong and the masculine Mercy Pillar became
too weak. This "out of balance" condition is a big source of our problems.
The future balance, involves the "return of the feminine," and is
symbolized in a number of ways. A great one is "Two Suns," where Venus has become
the equal of our Sun. Symbolically, the Morning Star will no longer fade
away with the sunrise -- we will apparently maintain our connection to the
dream world even in daytime, while wide awake. Some key figures are associated
with the Morning Star -- Jesus, Lucifer, and Quetzalcoatl. Venus is at the
bottom of the Right Pillar, on the Tree of Life, represented by sphere 7,
Netzach, aka, Victory.
The first masculine (Father) emanation of the Tree of Life is sphere 2,
Chokhmah (or Hokhmah), also called "Wisdom."
The first feminine (Mother) emanation is sphere 3, Binah, aka,
"Understanding." She is associated symbolically to the words "house" and "bread."
Bread can also associate with judgment (or karma).
It seems to me that the two spheres (vessels) at the top of the Left and
Right Pillars of the Tree of Life may correspond to the two vases in Cassie's
dream that "were shaped like large owls and what was broken was the tops
of their heads."
We do think of the owl as being symbolically wise. To the Gnostics, the
feminine goddess is Sophia, Divine Wisdom (the sofa in certain dreams). My
guess is that this symbolism relates to our dreams at night time, when the
owl is active, that is, while we are dreaming. Wisdom comes in dreams.
According to mythologist, Joseph Campbell, birds represent the descent of
the Deity into the field of time. I think of this as the birds representing
messengers from on High. Sheila has had a few dreams about an Aviary that
In the dream, the owl vases had "made in a China print." Various dream
indicate that oriental people or things in our "western" dreams, can represent
the symbolically "foreign" entities from the "East," the direction of
enlightenment, where the sun arises and the Morning Star appears. The Morning
Star associates with sphere 7, Netzach, aka, Victory, on the bottom of the
Last year, Dee dreamed that her friend, Bonnie, died. She felt that the
name Bonnie, which means beautiful, my symbolize "Beauty," which is the name
associated with sphere 6 (Tipareth) of the Tree of Life -- the one in the
center that corresponds to the heart chakra. I have noticed that the name,
Beau, in a dream, also seems to sometimes represent Tipareth/Beauty.
Based on her dream, Dee went on to create a very nice blog page on the
subject, and included a section about the words wisdom and understanding in
the Bible --
An important one is in Revelation 13:18 --
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the
beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six"
Blavatsky wrote that Saint John was a Kabbalist. The more I learn about the
subject, the more I agree. It seems that many other parts of the Bible
relate to Kabaalism. A big "coincidental" one, to me, was James 2:13 --
"For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy
triumphs over judgment."
This feminine "problem" appears in the Hindu tradition as the Goddess
Kali, who wears a girdle of severed human hands. As the instruments of our
works, this represents the karmic (tough love learning) process. She evokes the
feeling of Tamasisk, which means fury, anger.
Her Biblical counterpart, (I think obviously) is the harlot of Revelation
17, who is seated upon "many waters," which are "peoples and multitudes and
nations and tongues."
I have a few other ideas about the dream of dead people and other dreams
reported on this Forum. This includes certain other associations with the
Tree of Life, such as the house, vehicle, bicycle, weddings, and marriages.
Also, the Divine Name, YHWH, along with its common name (John & others) and
numerical associations, which seems to have appeared in some of Sheila's
dreams as 2525.
I will send another post about those things in a little while.
Thank you Cassie, Sheila, Betty, and Dee, for all your Great Dreams!

This dream is full of symbolism - you can find all these clues on the Tree
Trying to sleep - is that you aren't aware of all this.
Broken vases = the shattering of the vessels - called Shevirah - and we
need to repair them. They can't be filled with Light (Quintessence) from
above so we have to fill them from below. That's what we spiritually work
every day. Right actions on your part repairs them from below.
This process is called: Tikkun Olam (pronounced Te coon O lamb)
Piano = harmony
Sleeping in the music room is a great and wonderful thing to do.
The Mother is the uppermost left sphere - Binah

In a message dated 3/7/2013 4:37:09 A.M. Pacific Standard Time,
I had quite a bizarre dream of my old house with my ex and my Mother and
Stepfather were there. The house was in process of being changed and a lot
of my stepfathers items were brought in and stored in the rooms. Also
furniture was moved to make room for reconstruction going on or
remodeling. My room was downstairs in the music room...and it was time to go to bed.
I saw things and vases all stacked but broken and wondered why they did not
throw them way but my stepfather wanted to repair them. These were not expensive
things but reproductions.
I was trying to sleep and a young man came in and was sitting on a piano
in the middle of the room. He kept talking to me and I asked him who he was
and he said he was my stepfathers nephew. I remembered him but also
remembered he had died. I laid in bed with my eyes closed and soon more
voices of the other people who had died and soon the room was full of my ancestors
all of which were dead and buried. I got up and went into the kitchen and
my mother was there cooking something and asked me what was wrong. I told her
about all the people in my room, family members who had passed on...and I
wished they would leave so I could sleep. She went in there and saw
I told my step father and he was unaware as well. I then remembered both
of them were dead as well. I feel like I am forgetting part of this dream.
I remember hating the clutter and then not being able to rest because of the
voices and appearances of the dead relatives. They all seemed happy
though, excited about something...

One detail I forgot was the vases were made in a China print with gold

It was a pair of them.

NOTE FROM DEE: I just checked out own website before posting
this article, and I have dreamed of dead (deceased)
people 274 times. I probably dreamed of dead people more than that and just didn't mention that they were dead when
I typed up the dream.
MORE FROM JOE:
That is an amazing insight you had about Pope Francis being a Zoroastrian
Year of the Owl and Pope Benedict the Year of the Peacock.
The Owl certainly fits with Wisdom and the return of the feminine. The
Peacock fits with a dream I read on a posting board in 2004. It is pasted
below, along with a few other excerpts from the article we created about the
The symbols in the dream fit well with a Papal election. There were 24 aged
men in white robes and 24 polished stones.
Later in the dream, someone comes into the room wearing a robe with a
"peacock feathers" type design. A large hand places a large black stone into
the box, which grew 50 times larger.
About six months after that dream, John Paull II died, and Pope Benedict
Rocks and stones, including the sky types, sometimes seem to carry a
metaphor, that I read about. In 2010, I put the idea in an article, under a part
about the Omphalos Stone, which relates to the story of the 153 Fish in the
Net. In pre-Christian times, this was about Apollo at Delphi. Later, the
story was put in the Bible (John 21), where Peter is the main character.
This is the part --
The same story [153 Fish] was told in pre-Christian times. For example, it
related to the Omphalos at Delphi. The Greek Gematria for Omphalos is 911
and for Delphi it is 619, for a total of 1530.
The name, Peter, is translated from the name, Petra, which meant rock or
stone. According to Blavatsky, the word "petra," had a double meaning in
ancient times, and was used as a symbolic code. In Chaldaic and Phoenician,
petra also meant, "interpreter. "This relates to the interpretations on stone
tables passed down by the hierophant to the next chosen interpreter.
[end of excerpt]
It may be significant that Pope Francis was born on the 17th day of the
month. That number repeats in this type of symbolism, including various
events. The numbers 1 through 17 add to 153.
Included on that page about the next Pope, is Michelle's Great Dream, on
1-5-03. Note the similarity to the number 153. I pasted portions of that
dream below. At the end, Pope John Paul II and President George Bush came to
mop up the water that was threatening to wash the structure down from the
Your writing about Benedict and Francis being "the two big "chickens" also
strikes me as significant, as does your dream of the three cut up chickens,
while living in "apartment 17 in Hawthorne."
The apartment number fits with the 17 to 153 symbolism. There is a legend
about the Hawthorne Tree at Glastonbury, associated with Joseph of Arimathea
In the same article, linked above, about the 2010 crop circles, is this
This is the text --
<< I read an article in the short-lived California Center For Crop Circle
Studies magazine, reporting that most of the important crop circles appear
in the Wessex Triangle, or the Aquarian Triangle. One corner of that
Triangle is Glastonbury. Years later, I found a site that had more information.
One graphic has the 1991 Barbury Castle crop formation as indicating the
Aquarian Triangle on the map --
[graphic] see above.
In legend, Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus down from the cross to burry him.
He caught some of Christ's blood in a cup. Some say this was the same cup
used at the Last Supper, the original Communion. Later, Joseph was in
prison for 42 years, after which he traveled to southern England and built
Glastonbury Tor. It is said that the cup, the Holy Grail, is at the bottom of
Chalis Well, there at Glastonbury. >>
That part is under the heading, "Old Sarum 1992 & The Communion Message."
There are three different hints about Communion in the crop circle story.
This is one of my concluding statements --
<< Communion represents joining the "Body of Christ." In my view, this is
not about becoming part of a church. In the words of Joseph Campbell, the
"Virgin Birth" takes place when the spiritual person is born out of the
animal person, which happens at the Heart Chakra. The lower three chakras are
associated with the animal instincts. >>
When I read your statement about the chickens, I thought of a Biblical
verse right away. I searched and found that the verse is Matthew 14:30 --
<< And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you, this very night, before
the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times." >>
He was speaking to Peter. I pasted in several verses from Matthew 14 below.
To me, it tends to verify an interpretation I wrote January 2012 --
<< Part of the meaning of this came to me like puzzle pieces. The
relationship of St Peter to Jesus, I believe, is similar to the relationship
between various Biblical brothers or twins, such as Esau and Jacob, or Perez and
Zerah -- the twin sons of Judah and Tamar (Genesis 38). The second born son
inherits the Kingdom. The idea is that the Creator conceives of the ideal
Son, who must first undergo a karmic stage of development -- symbolically
given to the first born. This is the cycle of dealing with the lower three
chakras, the animal instincts. Near the end of the developing stage, the
first born son is symbolically an "old man." And then, the second Son is
symbolically born as the New Child, who will then be the King of the Kingdom --
the name of the tenth sphere of the Tree of Life. During the developmental
stage, one is an unconscious co-creator of the reality. Upon reaching the
heart chakra, the person becomes a conscious co-creator, symbolized by Lion
King. True free will is achieved at that point.
In the case of Saint Peter, the first born stage has lasted some two
thousand years, carried on by a succession of Popes. The present Pope, Benedict
XVI, is the 265th. That number is symbolically coincidental in a meaningful
way, because in the original story of the 153 Fish in the Net, the
dimension of the Net was 153 x 265, the division of which demonstrates a close
approximation of the square root of three (265 / 153 = 1.732). Joseph
Ratzinger became Pope Benedict XVI on 19 April 2005, some 82 days prior to the
appearance of the Chalfont St Peter crop formation. Some say that he will be
the last Pope, based mostly on the prophesies of St Malachy and Nostradamus.
Next Pope - The Anti-Pope - The Hanged Man
The Bones of the Triumvir
I do not believe that Benedict XVI will be the last Pope, nor that the
Church will cease to exist. The Popes and the Church are likely to carry on
into the future for some time. However, I see this as a symbolic truth,
representing an advancement in the spiritual development of mankind. As I see
it, people will be guided by their own internal authority, rather than accept
blindly the authority of the Church. >>
Thank you so much, Sheila, for sharing your truly "Great Dreams!" And your

Subject: Can anyone interpret this?
A room suddenly appears and in this room are 24 aged men in white robes,
seated in very ornate, high-backed chairs. Before them is a table, and
appearing on the table are two rows of polished stones. 24 of the stones are
white and 24 of them are black, and a small wooden box is next to these. The
box is very plain and not decorated. Then the scene changes and the men are
walking away from their chairs, in two lines, and are leaving the room.
The scene changes again and someone walks into what seems the same room,
but can only be seen from the back. He is wearing a much different robe. It
has deep colored swirls that look something like the designs seen on peacock
feathers, and a large emblem on the back. It appeared to be printed in
gold and comprised a sort of circle with dashed and dotted lines and two
horn-like protrusions above it.
But this time there are no chairs in the room. The table is still there,
but the polished and colored stones that were there before are now gone. And
the wooden box seems to have grown in size and is at least half the size of
Suddenly, the scene changes again and a large hand places a large black
stone into the box. But this stone is not polished and has many sharp and
jagged edges. And a deep voice speaks out, "Let it be So-o-o . . . . " At this
point, all that can be seen is the large black stone, but now, it seems 50
times larger and fills the back of the room. The voice sounded very ominous

The water was getting deeper and the guy fumbled to put the pipes together

Then the old guy looked at me. "Do it! You can fix it yourself!" he said.
Paul and I looked at each other and trusted Rov then said... "No"
The man grunted with disgust then he put the pipes together himself and
stopped the water.
Then he called to someone to mop up the mess and Pope Paul and President
George Bush came in and started to mop up the water.

22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and
gave it to them, and said, "Take; this is my body."
23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and
they all drank of it.
24 And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured
out for many.
25 Truly, I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine
until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 And Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away; for it is written, 'I
will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee."
29 Peter said to him, "Even though they all fall away, I will not."
30 And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you, this very night, before the

31 But he said vehemently, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you."
And they all said the same.
32 And they went to a place which was called Gethsem'ane; and he said to
his disciples, "Sit here, while I pray."
33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly
distressed and troubled.
34 And he said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain
here, and watch."
35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it
were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 And he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; remove this
cup from me; yet not what I will, but what thou wilt."
37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, "Simon, are
you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?
38 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed
is willing, but the flesh is weak."
39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.
40 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very
heavy; and they did not know what to answer him.
41 And he came the third time, and said to them, "Are you still sleeping
and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come; the Son of man is
betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Popes Benedict and Francis are Peacock and Owl [the two big "chickens";]
and then there were three small chickens in one bag. I read wiki on Malachy's
pope predictions this morning and it said that it is not clear if there
are other popes between the last two that are unspecified.
3-7-13 I'm living in my old apartment 17 in Hawthorne in the Los Angeles
area. A woman comes to the door with some packages of raw chicken. I tell
Steve that she cut up some whole chickens for me. One package has three small
whole chickens [Cornish game hens?] One of the larger chickens is divided
into two packages attached at the top. The other larger chicken has also
been cut up into parts.
I go into the bedroom to put away some necklaces made of many strands of
seed pearls. I stuff them into a broken clay-colored plastic pot that smells
like smoke. >>
