The Four Living Creatures Or Merkabah

Cross, Pyramid, and The New Jerusalem

  After I  learned about The New Jerusalem Plan,  I thought about the similar patterns that came to me. The twelve-pointed star is formed by four overlapping triangles. The diagram of the pyramid, as viewed from above, and corresponding to the quintuplet set of crop circles, also had four triangles . . . the four faces of the pyramid. By changing the shape of the triangles, based on the perspective of the viewer, the four triangles could also be put into a Teutonic Cross. I remembered that a twelve-pointed star and a Teutonic Cross had been found by dowsing within crop circle formations. The basic pattern of The New Jerusalem Plan had also been found within a crop circle formation.

I later found page 73 in The Sacred Symbols of Mu with these depictions -

James Churchward explains -  

"The Pyramid Cross. Line 1 - A group of Crosses among Niven's collection of Mexican tablets is especially interesting. I have called them the Pyramid Crosses because they are designed on the lines of a pyramid. They are the cosmogony of a pyramid illustrated by a cross.

The four arms are composed of four triangles corresponding with the four sides of a pyramid.

The points of these triangles are covered with the monotheistic symbol of the Deity.

The base of a pyramid is square; the four triangles brought together form a square. The pyramid is built on astronomical lines; so is the Cross.

These Crosses were drawn before the submersion of Mu. Were any pyramids built before that date? I know of none. Were pyramids evolved out of these Crosses?

'The Four Great Pillars,' 'The Sacred Four,' 'The Four Great Architects,' 'The Four Great Builders' and 'The Four Powerful Ones.'

No. 777 (the third glyph in the center row) confirms the fact that the four triangles forming the Cross are the Sacred Four because the symbol within the triangle reads: 'Pillar.' The four triangles with their inscriptions therefore read: 'The Four Great Pillars' - one of the names given to the Sacred Four.  

During the life of Mu it was taught that the Four Pillars sustained the universe.

After the destruction of Mu the universe was forgotten and the earth given the honor of anchoring and sustaining the Pillars. A pillar was placed at each of the Cardinal Points: - North, South, East and West."  

There are many other ancient symbols that represent the same concept. Another example is a quintuplet set of circles inside a triangle. This is said to be "the Deity with His Four Primary Forces in Heaven." The Four Primary Forces, Pillars, Builders, etc., according to Churchward, represent the four forces in the universe (gravity, electromagnetism, the strong atomic force, and the weak atomic force).

A breakthrough came for me when I read a letter to the editor in a crop circle journal. The writer stated that the Barbury Castle crop circle formation fit exactly within the New Jerusalem Plan. By comparing the two symbols, I could see how it fits -  

I drew three shapes, based on the idea -  

The four simplified triangles are patterned after the crop formation, with circles at each of the three corners. The left illustration forms a Teutonic Cross by overlapping four of the circles in the center. The middle illustration indicates a pyramid as viewed from above, formed by "lowering the bases" of the four triangles in the Teutonic Cross design. Each triangle in the middle illustration is changed (foreshortened) in shape, indicating the angle of perception. The illustration on the right is similar to The New Jerusalem Plan, and is formed by the same four triangles overlapped on center.

I felt that it was significant that The New Jerusalem Plan is quite similar to Zodiac designs, where four overlapping triangles touch the various signs. The triangles are designated - fire, air, water and earth. Thus, we have three "fire signs," three "air signs," etc. Many scholars have pointed out that these "four elements" are found in myths and religions worldwide. In Karl Jung's philosophy, these four elements are said to also be psychological functions. In descending order they are:

fire = inspiration
air = thought
water = emotions
earth = sensations

A cross shape appears in the central illustration, as a result of the shapes. A crop formation appeared later that had such a cross-shape, that is, it was a quintuplet set of circles with pathways connecting them, forming the cross. The formation was "added to" shortly after the cross appeared. A large circle formed over the cross.

Shortly after I drew the shapes, another coincidence happened. A relative placed a book on my desk, opened to a page with this illustration -

My relative was not aware of the connections I would see in this Navaho sand painting from the Time-Life book, Indians of the West. The sand painting shows the gods of the four directions. The shape in the center is quite like the center illustration in my drawing above, the pyramid shape. Each of the triangles in my illustrations have the "Y" shape inside the triangle, following the Barbury Castle crop formation design. In the sand painting above, each of the four gods is holding a "Y" - shaped "charm."

Each of the gods also holds a counterclockwise Swastika. Prior to my study of ancient symbols, I had a dream of a counterclockwise Swastika. Energy was flowing from the center, out into the arms. A voice said,

"These are the forces going out from the center to experience negative manifested events, in order to learn. It is generally square, and you circle counterclockwise."

I later found Swastikas in The Sacred Symbols of Mu. Five illustrations on page 78 show how the swastika evolved from the cross. In this case, the Swastika is counterclockwise. James Churchward wrote that the arms of the Swastika are formed by glyphs called "Builder." These "L" - shapes are "two-sided squares," like the tool used by carpenters, masons, and other craftsmen. It was called a Mason's Square by the Masonic brotherhood. Four of the glyphs in the form of the Swastika indicate "the Four Great Builders of the Universe."  

The two-sided square glyph is on many of Niven's Mexican tablets. In ancient Egypt it became a symbol of justice and uprightness. In the Book of the Dead and in various Egyptian papyrii, the seats of the gods and goddesses are composed of the two-sided square. It was a symbol of the god Ptah.  Two of his titles were "The Divine Artificer" and "The Divine Builder."

Another type of Swastika was composed of four curved horn-like shapes. Two forms of this type are shown on page 225, one from the Mound Builders and the other from Niven's tablet number 1231. These two are clockwise Swastikas, which indicate moving from west to east. It is a "Good Luck" symbol.


Ezekiel's Four Living Creatures

Another breakthrough came to me many months later, in 1992. I read several references to Ezekiel's vision of the Four Living Creatures, including the idea that the four creatures represent the Zodiac signs corresponding to the positions of the solstices and equinoxes during the Age of Taurus. I opened my Bible, and read the verses. I felt that coincidence was at work again, as the description seemed to fit with my drawing of the pyramid formed by the four triangles based on the Barbury Castle crop formation. But, in my illustration, I had not drawn in the central circle with rings within the triangles. These seemed to correspond to the "four wheels" described by Ezekiel. I then drew in the circles with rings inside each of the four triangles -

By reading the first page of Ezekiel, and comparing it to the illustration, one can see the connections. I will relate the comparisons that came to mind as I read the verses of Ezekiel -

1:4 As I looked, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, and a great cloud, with brightness round about it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming bronze. 5And from the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the form of men, 6but each had four faces, and each of them had four wings.

Comparison: The segments within each triangle can be viewed as wing-like. A crop formation in 1993 had a similar wing-like shape. The central circle in the illustration contains four overlapping circles, perhaps corresponding to the "four faces." Another possibility is this - each triangle may represent a tetrahedron, a three-sided pyramid shape. The three sides plus the bottom (another triangle) has "four faces."

1:7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf's foot; and they sparkled like burnished bronze. 8Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. And the four had their faces and their wings thus: 9their wings touched one another; they went every one straight forward, without turning as they went.

Comparison: The "four sides" could also suggest tetrahedrons. The "wings touched one another," just as the corresponding wing-like shapes in the illustration "touch." The last part of the verse seems to indicate that the shape retains its form as it moves.

1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man in front; the four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four had the face of an eagle at the back. 11Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above; each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies.

Comparison: As I mentioned, the four living creatures are thought to represent Zodiac signs. I first read about the idea in 1990, in Joseph Campbell's The Inner Reaches Of Outer Space. A photograph is shown on page 77 of a "chimeral cherub," a large limestone carving. It is a portal guardian from the palace of Ashurnasirpal II at Nimrud, Assyria, 833-859 BC. The chimeral cherub combines the body of a bull, feet of a lion, wings and breast of an eagle, and a human head wearing a miter with six horns. Ezekiel lived during the late 6th century BC, and was located in the area of Babylon, so it is likely that he was familiar with this symbolism. The four living creatures correspond to the Zodiac signs during the Age of Taurus in this way -

Lion = Leo - summer solstice
Ox = Taurus - spring equinox
Eagle (which later became Scorpio) = autumnal equinox
Man = Aquarius, the Water Bearer - winter solstice

The same four triangles in The New Jerusalem Plan design, when viewed as a Zodiac, represent three Zodiac signs each, with the same "four living creatures" above included in each, that is, one tip of each triangle touches the corresponding Zodiac signs . . . which are represented by the circles in my three illustrations.

The image of "two wings" that are "spread out above," could be similar to the Teutonic Cross design. In my drawing of the Teutonic Cross shape, the "wings" do not touch. However, the description seems similar.

1:12 And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went. 13In the midst of the living creatures there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches moving to and fro among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. 14And the living creatures darted to and fro, like a flash of lightning.

1:15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel upon the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them. 16As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of a chrysolite; and the four had the same likeness, their construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel. 17When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went. 18The four wheels had rims and they had spokes; and their rims were full of eyes round about.

Comparison: When first reading these words of the great prophet, I was astonished. It seemed like a verification of my feelings concerning the shapes I had drawn. The first parts of the verses gave me the feeling . . . "maybe, just perhaps, my illustrations are related." Along with that feeling was the familiar one . . . "I am just stretching this to make it fit . . . I am being egotistical, falling into an aggrandizement."  But, when I read about the "four wheels," I began to really believe that it just might be related. The "wheels" in my illustrations are patterned after the crop formation, which had the central circle with two rings superimposed over the triangle. The "spokes" seem to correspond to the "Y" -shapes inside the design.

The idea that the shape is "full of eyes," may correspond to the ancient glyph of the eye within the triangle, as "The Monotheistic Deity looking out from Heaven." It is quite similar to the other ancient glyph with the circle and ring within a triangle, representing "The Monotheistic Deity in Heaven." The expression, "His Eye is on the sparrow" (or bird), may be a clue. A bird's eye has no lid, so it is round, a circle with ring.

1:19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. 20Wherever the spirit would go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. 21When those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them; for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.  

1:22 Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of a firmament, shining like crystal, spread out above their heads. 23And under the firmament their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another; and each creature had two wings covering its body. 24And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the thunder of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of a host; when they stood still, they let down their wings. 25And there came a voice from above the firmament over their heads; when they stood still, they let down their wings.

Comparison:  Again, the image of the two "wings" of each creature "stretched out straight" could be similar to the Teutonic Cross design. Standing "still" and letting "down their wings," seems similar to lowering the bases of the triangles to form the pyramid . . . or perhaps, the capstone of the pyramid. Such imagery is said by some to represent Christ's return. It brings to mind the pyramid symbol placed on American money. The triangle with the eye inside is suspended above the flat-topped pyramid. According to Joseph Campbell, this is the Eye of the Holy Spirit. He also made this observation:  

"One cannot but think of representations in European medieval art of Christ of the Second Coming, surrounded by four figures symbolizing the evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - namely, a man, a lion, a bull, and an eagle, . . . "

The words, "the sound of many waters" also appear in Revelation 1:15, in describing the voice of the son of man. The harlot of Revelation 17:1 is seated upon "many waters." The "waters" where the harlot is seated is explained in Revelation 17:15 as "peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues." Assuming a consistency in the verses, it seems clear that "many waters" refer to all the people of the earth. This fits well, I believe, with the idea that the four living creatures are connected with the twelve Zodiac signs, because every person on the earth is born "under" one of these signs. The son of man in Revelation 1:15, then, may well represent many people speaking in the future. Revelation 1:16 says, ". . . from his mouth issued a sharp two-edged sword."

The verses of Ezekiel that follow speak of the throne above the firmament, with a human form seated upon it. A bright rainbow was round about the throne.

Revelation 4 also speaks of the four living creatures, the throne and the rainbow. In Saint John's vision, the rainbow appeared like emerald. Each of the four living creatures have six wings. Revelation 4:4 gives additional information -

Round the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clad in white garments, with golden crowns upon their heads.

If my illustrations are indeed related, this may suggest the orientation of the four Barbury Castle crop formation shapes. The north glyph in the crop formation had six curved lines in the circle, forming an aperture-like design. Placing the four north glyphs in the pyramid design to overlap in the center makes a total of twenty-four curved patterns within the four overlapped circles.

I realized then that putting the north glyphs in the center, makes another possible connection. The north glyph in the crop formation is said to be a "sun symbol." In terms of the simplified quintuplet set of circles, they could indicate the sun (four suns overlapped) with four "earths" placed around it, showing the positions of the solstices and equinoxes.


Subatomic Creation Process Suggestion

There are a number of hints that these symbols represent subatomic particles. For example, my dream of the "Y" unfolding the world, and its relationship to the Chinese "Great Y," suggests a creation process. James Churchward wrote that the Chinese "Great Y" has the same meaning as the circle with ring inside the triangle. In Dali's "cosmic dream," that helped inspire him to paint Christ of Saint John of the Cross, the circle within the triangle represented the nucleus of the atom and the unity of the universe.

I later found a diagram in Sufi, Expressions of the Mystic Quest, that is quite similar to the Barbury Castle triangle.

It is part of several that represent how creation is created. It is said that the "why" of creation is "For Knowledge of Self." The Divine is Infinite and Knowledge of Self is part of Its Infiniteness. The "How" of creation is diagrammed as shown above. Creation begins with the One point, and becomes the line labeled, "Knowledge of Self." The top circle of the line is "Knower." The line is "knowledge." The bottom circle of the line is "Known." The second glyph, which looks like an upside-down "Y," is labeled "Active Agent." The top arm of the upside-down "Y" is "Knowledge of Self," which is the same as the top glyph, the line. The left arm of the upside-down "Y" is "Command." The right arm is "Will." The third glyph, the plane triangle, is labeled "Passive Recipient." The top, left, and right points of the triangle are "thingness, obeying" and "hearing." The bottom glyph combines the upside-down "Y" -shape within the triangle.

In The Book of Knowledge, The Keys of Enoch, Dr. Hurtak wrote that the Eye of YHWH (God) is within each pyramid of Light. Various triangle-tetrahedron shapes are illustrated in the book, including tetrahedral shapes on Mars, and a tetrahedral-like depiction on a map of the world, at Giza.  

When the four triangles are placed together in the pyramid shape, as in my illustration, it looks similar to platinum crystals under a powerful microscope -  


The Four Living Creatures and the Sri Yantra

After I read Ezekiel's vision, I took a photocopy of my illustration of the pyramid design, and drew in the four "wheels," that is, a circle with two rings drawn upon each of the four triangles. That is the illustration above. As I gazed upon the new drawing, I suddenly realized that incredible coincidence had struck again. When viewed diagonally, the shape had the same arrangement of nine circular areas as the other designs covered in the first parts of these articles!  It has the same basic layout as my nine chits in the diamond arrangement, that had proven so very coincidental.

I then realized the illustration also had the 5-4 code, as I originally suspected from the Dali painting, Animated Still Life, and which proved to be true of the Sri Yantra in terms of its upward and downward triangles. In the above illustration, the quintuplet of circles are the 5, and the "wheels" are the 4. The circles mark the four corners and apex of the pyramid, and the four "wheels" mark the four sides.

The first verse of The Book of Ezekiel says that his vision took place in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month. I wondered if it could be that the date was timed to give the 5-4 code, in terms of the day and month.

My original feeling about Dali's Animated Still Life was that it symbolised how physical reality is created by thought forms. After I drew the pyramid shape, based of the triangular crop formation, I noticed that a four-pointed star could also be derived from it. This shape was also within one of my drawings of the four couples around a square. I realized that the pattern is quite similar to the designs on the the right side of the table in Dali's painting.

The left side of the table is covered by a white tablecloth. The right side seems to show what lies under the white tablecloth, that is, a pattern of creation.

His articles include superstring theory as related to the sacred geometry of Pythagoreas. The Tree of Life is a major part of the picture. Many of the diagrams fit with various crop circle formations and other geometry that has come my way. One of the diagrams is quite similar to the tablecloth pattern in the Dali painting as related in this series of articles:

Earthquake and Baseball Connections

Some weeks went by before I read more of Ezekiel, and came to more significant verses -  

3:12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and as the glory of the Lord arose from its place, I heard behind me the sound of a great earthquake; 13it was the sound of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, that sounded like a great earthquake.

This also stuck me as quite coincidental. The day I drew the diagram based on the Dali painting, in the attempt to find the 5-4 code, the report came over the television that it was the first anniversary of the San Fransisco earthquake of 1989. I recalled the prediction from the ouija board back in 1982, with the "nine, three" message. I had the feeling that the strange prediction indicated that the earthquake would occur during the World Series baseball game, with its nine innings, nine players, three strikes, and three outs.

Prior to reading Ezekiel I found a book called Nostradamus And The Millennium. Quatrain 83 of Century Nine was given -

The sun, twenty degrees into Taurus,
there will be a great earthquake;
the great theater, filled, will be ruined.
The air, heaven and earth, will be dark and obscure,
as the unbelievers call on God and the Saints.  

The author of the book interpreted this quatrain as a prediction of a large earthquake that would occur while thousands of people were at a modern sports stadium. The book was published two years prior to the San Fransisco earthquake.

Looking at the illustration again, I could see a possible baseball connection in the geometry. The four bases and pitcher's mound of the baseball field form a quintuplet set. There is a player assigned to each of these. The remaining players are the three outfielders and the shortstop, who are not assigned to a base or mound. This is, then, the 5-4 code of baseball. One can envision it in the illustration above, as the "four wheels" moving into the positions of the three outfielders and shortstop.

I felt that the movie film, Field of Dreams, was an inspired work. The idea may have came from the dream-Spirit reality. In the film, the farmer hears a voice speak to him in the corn field, saying, "If you build it, they will come." He hears this again a second time, and sees a vision of a baseball field lit up with lights in the corn fields. He builds the baseball field, and then spirits, former baseball players, come to play the game, including the spirit of his own father. Other baseball films also may have come from the other world, such as Angels In The Outfield.

All this still seemed farfetched, even outrageous . . . to think that a sports game could be symbolic of grand, cosmic ideas . . . that events are happening and movie films are being created which carry the symbolism, yet people are unaware of it.


Coincidence: Roger Maris and Me

The coincidences continued. Shortly after I read Ezekiel, and realized the connections discussed in this article, another baseball connection came my way. I was working with a mechanic on the night shift, when he opened a drawer of his tool box. I noticed a magazine in the drawer, and asked if I could see it. It was a Reader's Digest. I saw the list of articles on the cover, one of which was Roger Maris and Me, by Andy Strasburg.

As a boy in the early 1960's, Andy Strasbury was a fan of the New York Yankees baseball team. Roger Maris was a top star in baseball, and broke Babe Ruth's home run record during that time. Andy went early to see some of the games, and met Roger. The great baseball star gave Andy a signed ball, and later a signed bat. Andy became Roger's biggest fan. Andy asked Roger for one of his home run balls. Roger said that he did not have any, so Andy could only get one if he caught one himself during a game.

Some years later, in 1966, Roger was traded to the Saint Louis Cardinals, and Andy went off to college in Akron, Ohio the following year. Andy told some of his new friends at the college about his friendship with Roger Maris. They did not seem to believe him. Later, Andy read that the Cardinals were going to play the Pirates in Pittsburg on May 9th. Several of his friends joined him, and they drove the several hundred miles to attend the game.

They arrived early, and stood in the stands near the field watching the players warm up. Roger, wearing his number 9, suddenly saw Andy. He approached the young men, saying, "Andy Strasburg! What are you doing in Pittsburg?" After Andy's explanation, Roger signed baseballs for Andy and his friends.

Andy was superstitious about baseball, so he went out to the right field stands, and sat in seat 9, Row 9. In the sixth inning, Roger came to bat, and hit a long ball into right field. Andy and the people around him, stood up, reaching for the ball. Andy said it was like "slow motion," as the ball sailed directly into his hand. It was the first home run that Roger had hit in the National League . . . the many others were in the American league.

Andy concluded that a miracle had happened . . . that it was far beyond coincidence that number 9 hit the ball to to him in seat 9, row 9, on May 9th.

I, of course, felt that it was also beyond accidental coincidence that I had found the article at that time, as so many symbolic connections had come to me over a period of some two years. The city of Pittsburg held a special symbolic significance for me. About a year prior to reading the article, the words "Three Rivers Stadium" popped into my mind. I knew it was connected symbolically with Black Elk's great vision, where the Blue Man was in the water where three streams meet. Two rivers flow into one at Pittsburg. This symbolism, I feel, is related to the "Y" symbolism. I later read that Armageddon was a place where armies gathered for battle, because it was near the place where two major roads joined into one.

The number nine is considered very significant in myths and religions. Joseph Campbell pointed out how many important numbers, such as 108 and 432, add to nine. Over the months I had noted this many times, including crop circle events, dreams, myths and religions. Among the Biblical examples are 144,000, 1260, 360. It would be another year or so, before I learned of the most ancient form of Gematria, with all its numbers divisible by nine, and adding to nine or a multiple of nine. More recently, I found an article on-line about the number nine being quite evident in the crop circle phenomenon.


Three, Six, Nine, The Truth Takes Time

In discussing the number nine on page 37 of The Inner Reaches of Outer Space, Joseph Campbell wrote:  

"It is to be noticed, by the way, that 1 + 6 + 5 + 6 = 18, which is twice 9, while 4 + 3 + 2 = 9; 9 being a number traditionally associated with the Goddess Mother of the World and its gods. In India the number of recited names in a litany of this goddess is 108. 1 + 0 + 8 = 9, while 108 x 4 = 432. In Roman Catholic Europe, when the Angelus tolls (at morning, noon, and evening), it rings 3 + 3 + 3 and then 9 times, in celebration of the Virgin's conception of the Savior. The recited prayer at those junctures, 'The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived by the Holy Ghost . . . . and THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH . . .' is in recognition of this miracle at the opening of a new world age."

1,656 is the period of years between Adam's creation and the landing of Noah's Ark. 432 is a cycle of time number. These two numbers and 108 are part of a very ancient system of numbers.

After reading Joseph Campbell's book, and drawing the various symbols around my nine chits, I saw the film, Flatliners. A group of young interns experiment with the "near-death" experience, by causing each other to "die," and then come back to life. The experiences bring on strange events that have karmic implications. One of the interns sees a young, black girl on a streetcar. Many years before, in grammar school, he had treated her cruelly. The girl speaks, saying -

"Three, six, nine,
the truth takes time,
the monkey chewed tobacco on the streetcar line.
The line broke,
the monkey got choked,
and we all went to heaven in a little row boat."

I felt that the nursery rhyme was inspired; that it was related to the "nine" symbolism, as expressed by Joseph Campbell, and that the game of baseball was symbolically related. Other dreams and experiences indicated that the "monkey" carried an evolution metaphor, in terms of mankind's "problem" with thoughts and beliefs. My dream voice said, "We are still apes! The great cycle is not over yet. We will become Man at the end of the cycle."

This came after thinking about a TV show, where a tribesman catches a monkey, in order to find water. He first finds a giant ant hill, then puts sweet food in a hole of just the right size. He hides nearby and waits. Soon, the monkey comes, drawn by the sweet smell of the food. He reaches in the hole in the ant hill, and grasps the food. The tribesman approaches with a rope. The monkey screeches in extreme fright, and struggles desperately to free himself from the ant hill. But, he does not think to release his grip on the food, so he is trapped. The tribesman puts a noose around the monkey's neck, and then feeds him salt, to make him thirsty. He releases the monkey's grip on the food. The monkey travels through the jungle to find water, with the tribesman holding the end of the noose. The monkey finds a hole in the ground, and is released from the noose. He goes into the hole, finds a pool of water, and drinks his fill. The monkey runs free back into the jungle, and then the tribesman goes into the hole and takes his water.

This real-life method of finding water can be viewed symbolically in terms of "food for thought," "the hive mind" represented by the ant hill, and so forth. The tribesman, as I see it, represents a spiritual being, his black color indicating "invisible." So, the symbolism of the monkey or ape, can indicate our inability to release old beliefs, even when they hold us "captive."

Dee and I have found many dreams from many people that seem to have a similar meaning. The dreams are about dumping the garbage, or going to the bathroom, or the toilet being blocked, and the like. It seems to be a play on the "food for thought" symbolism. These are old beliefs that have been "consumed and digested." All the nutrients have been removed. It is time to eject them, otherwise one cannot continue to consume new food, i.e., new "food for thought."

The word, "tobacco" in the nursery rhyme seemed related to another idea that came to me. Food that we chew, such as gum or tobacco, can be a "spiritual food for thought." We do not swallow this food; we just get the flavor, which is mixed with our own juices before being digested. In other words, spiritual communications via dreams, visions, inspirations, etc., are processed by our minds, and are influenced by our beliefs. The original message will have our own "overlay" or distortion.

Interestingly, I found that Dali had ants in his paintings. I first noticed it in the painting, Partial Hallucination: Six Apparitions of Lenin on a Grand Piano. Six little glowing heads of the Soviet Revolution leader appear on the keyboard. A man sits rigidly in a chair nearby. He wares an arm band and a cloth is pined to his back. It is a very austere scene, seeming to indicate the result of conditioning by propaganda. ....


The strange nursery rhyme suggests a great change in the last line, "and we all went to heaven in a little row boat." The numbers on the first line seemed related to my experiences, and the various related symbols.

Reading the Bible later, I found verses in Mark that appear to be related:  

15:25 And it was the third hour, when they crucified him.
15:33 And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "E'lo-i, E'lo-i, la'ma sabach-tha'ni?" which means "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"


Spirits of People Held Captive in Automobile Tires

In the weeks following my reading of Ezekiel, I had a dream of being under a truck as it was traveling down a highway. I saw the four wheels going round and round. I had the feeling when I awoke, that this was related to the four wheels of Ezekiel's vision, and that any vehicle with four wheels in a dream could be symbolic of this.

Again, another coincidence happened, one that was very strange. While driving to work, I listened to a radio program. Paul Harvey soon came over the airways, telling one of his stories. A news story from the Philippines reported a traffic problem. In a major city, some people were letting the air out of the motorists' tires, as they were waiting at stop lights. Investigators found that the strange strange behavior came from a religious group. The leader of the group had received a Divine message, saying that the Spirits of people were being held captive in their automobile tires. The followers were letting the air out of the tires, to free the Spirits of the people.

This is amusing, of course, but on the serious side, it seems that the spiritual leader in the Philippines received an important message that has some validity.


Cliff's Incredible Baseball Dream

Around the middle of 1993, Cliff, a friend of my son, visited with us, and stayed for the night. In the morning, he came and told me about his incredible dream -

I was at a rowdy, drunken party and saw Danny O'Daniel, a boy I knew in school. My cousin came, and asked me to go play baseball. I left the party and went to find my baseball mit. I opened the door of a parked car, to look for my mit, but a man was setting in the driver's seat, and I saw no mit. I ran some distance, and opened the door of another parked car. The same man was setting in the car! And, there was no mit. I knew that I had to return to my home, to find my mit, so I began walking toward home, which was across town.

Just before reaching home, a strange woman in a very strange car, came driving erratically down the street. The vehicle swerved back and forth, going up on the sidewalks. The car was very narrow, and had six single seats. The woman's skin was grayish, her eyes were bloodshot, and she wore blue jeans. She was otherwise quite attractive. She pulled a cord to honk the horn. She drove by me, saying that she had a tiff with her "old man" over her little girl.

I arrived home and the strange woman drove the strange vehicle into the driveway. Another car pulled up, and a man got out, shouting, "Street patrol!" He explained that the strange woman had taken the strange vehicle from a rich man's house, and they came to return it.

I walked toward my car, which was gray instead of its real color, red. As I approached, the car door opened, and a man got out. It was the same man who had been setting in the other two cars! I saw baseball mitts in the seat of the car. The man had been setting on them! I pushed him and said, "No wonder I couldn't find my mit!"

There were three mitts on the seat . . . my old catcher's mit, that had the leather of the webbing cut out, a blue mit that did not belong to me, and my mit, the one I had been looking for. I took my mit from the car.

The man who had yelled, "Street patrol!" drove off in the long, strange car. The man who had sat on the mitts drove off in the "street patrol" man's car. The strange woman got into my car, stood up with her upper body protruding through the sun roof, and buckled the seat belt around her waist. I went off to play baseball.

Cliff's amazing dream seemed connected to the symbols that had come to me in the months prior, although I had not mentioned them to Cliff. The "baseball" symbolism was especially significant to me. I felt that this was a verification from the dream world.

In the dream, there is a suggestion of three stages or steps prior to "playing baseball." There were three vehicles involving the three mitts. Baseball, therefore, in the dream represents the fourth step, which is the Heart chakra consciousness. The strange woman, I felt, symbolised Kali, the harlot of Revelation 17, that is, the energy of our time cycle. That energy is indicated by the "rowdy, drunken party." The kings of the earth become drunk on the wine of the harlot, which evokes the emotion of fury or wrath. Kali is said to evoke the emotion "tamasisk," which means fury. At the end of the three-stage cycle, Kali, the harlot, is deposed.

The strange woman in the dream told Cliff that she had "a tiff with her old man over her little girl." I believe the "little girl" refers to the feminine aspect within humanity. During the three-step time cycle she corresponds to the "daughters of the harlot," or as it is phrased in Zechariah 2:7, "those who dwell with the daughter of Babylon." When the Kali-harlot aspect changes at the fourth step, the "daughter" also changes to the positive. Indications are that the new "little girl" is the aspect of The Holy Spirit within.

The "old man" could perhaps be the Father God, but, more likely, I think, the Demiurge god. My dreams and coincidences indicated that the Demiurge god is symbolised by the Swastika, and represents the consciousness gestalt of mankind. The Demiurge god is a deity subordinate to the Supreme Deity, as creator of the physical world. He is often symbolised by craftsmen. He can do "good or evil." My experiences indicated that the counterclockwise Swastika symbolizes negative, yet learning, experiences, and that the clockwise Swastika symbolizes positive experiences.  The Swastika can be formed by the "L" - like shape, meaning "builder," or by curved horns.

I was astonished later, when I found the following verses in Zechariah:  

1:18 And I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four horns! 19And I said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these?" And he answered me, "These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem." 20Then the Lord showed me four smiths. 21And I said, "What are these coming to do?" He answered, "These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man raised his head; and these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it."  

In my mind, this refers to a counterclockwise, or west-going Swastika composed of four curved horns, and to a clockwise, or east-going Swastika composed of four "builder" glyphs. Some Bibles translate the word "smith" as "carpenter." In any case, this is a "craftsman," a "builder" type of symbolism, and I believe it refers to mankind's role as co-creator of the reality. Remember too, that the basic New Jerusalem Plan was found by dowsing within the crop circle formation called a "Swastika circle." I also learned that the Swastika is a symbol of Kali, and her consort, Shiva.

In Cliff's dream, he traveled home after looking in the two cars. This "returning home" symbolism has been in many of the dreams people have told to me. I believe it represents returning, or becoming aware of, or "remembering" our spiritual origins.  

I think that in dreams, throwing or catching objects can symbolize ideas or thoughts being sent or received. Interestingly, in the Viking myths, Thor throws a fiery Swastika, which always returns to his right hand. He is said to be a type of "craftsman," a metal worker. The implication in Cliff's dream is that we have been prevented from receiving a certain knowledge during the three-stage time cycle, but the ability will come at the fourth step. In baseball, the pitcher stands on the mound in the center of the four bases to throw the ball. The pitcher's mound is elevated slightly to a level higher than the rest of the field. In terms of the related symbols, the pitcher's mound corresponds to the top of the pyramid, the bindu point or creative center of the Sri Yantra, the throne in Heaven centered between the Four Living Creatures and The New Jerusalem, or the center of the celestial vault, the pole star center of the Zodiac.

"Danny O'Daniel" in Cliff's dream, also seemed suggestive. Cliff told me that Danny O'Daniel was a real person that he knew from school some years before, but that he was just an acquaintance, not a close friend. Just prior to Cliff's dream, I had read the parts of The Book of Daniel that tell about Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the frightening image (Daniel 2:33-45). The image had a head of gold, breasts and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, and feet of part iron, part clay. A stone was cut out by no human hand and struck against the feet of the image, shattering it. the stone became a great mountain and filled the earth.

Daniel interpreted the four metals to represent kingdoms or ages. The fourth kingdom-age would be a divided kingdom. In those future days the old kingdoms-ages will be destroyed, and God will set up a kingdom never to be destroyed.

The coincidence about this, was that I had just read a part of Blavatsky's Isis Unveiled, vol. 2, in which she gave the Hindu chronology of the ages, or "Yugas" (page 275). The four Yugas are symbolised by the same four metals in the same order as in The Book of Daniel. We are now in the Kali-yug, the Age of Iron, of darkness, misery, and sorrow. She continues -

"In this age, Vishnu had to incarnate himself in Christna, in order to save humanity from the goddess Kali, consort of Siva, the all-annihilating - the goddess of death, destruction, and human misery. Kali is the best emblem to represent the 'fall of man'; the falling of spirit into the degradation of matter, with all its terrific results. We have to rid ourselves of Kali before we can ever reach 'Moksha,' or Nirvana, the abode of blessed Peace and Spirit."  

The Golden Age is called the Crita-yug, the "age of joy," or spiritual innocence of man. I read elsewhere that there will be a return to the Golden Age in the future. It seemed to me that the Crita-yug/Golden Age is similar to the Garden of Eden. This gave me another idea.

In terms of the "three and a half" symbolism, corresponding to the midpoint of the seven chakras, there may be a correspondence to the four metals representing the ages. The first Age is not counted, because a process starts after the "fall" from the time of joy and spiritual innocence. Therefore, the ages of silver, bronze and iron could correspond to the three steps, ages, or chakra levels involved in the time cycle. In Nebuchadnezzar's dream, the feet of part iron, part clay (the divided kingdom) could represent the three and a half point. The great mountain filling the earth, establishing the everlasting Kingdom, would then correspond to the fourth step, the Heart chakra level.

Three of the four metals showed up in the crop circle story in 1991. A group of several crop circle formations appeared at Grasdorf, Germany. Three metal plates were found underground, below the formations, one of gold, one of silver, and one of bronze. Engraved upon the plates were the same designs as the in the crops.

Just as I speculated about these possibilities, I received a newsletter that had a diagram of a crop formation that had appeared at Old Sarum. It struck me that the formation could symbolize the frightening image dream of Nebuchadnezzar. The top circle with ring is the head of gold, symbolizing the Age of Gold. It is a symbol of the Deity, but it could have other meanings. The one that fits here is from a concept I read in The Gnostic Gospels found at Nag Hamadi. Some 1,600 years ago, a Gnostic Christian had a vision, indicating that the world is like the womb, with the placenta as the Garden of Eden. Also, Joseph Campbell spoke of the "enclosure," and how the word "paradise" comes from words that mean "wall around." My first dream voice message about the crop circles said, "Because we are disconnected from our spirituality, some rings are missing." The message was about the "first pictogram" that appeared in 1990 at Chilcomb Farm.

The next circle in the Old Sarum formation, with the reversed "F" - shape, represents the breasts and arms of silver, the Age of Silver. The next circle, like a "6," represents the belly and thighs of bronze, the Age of Bronze. The four diagonal lines below the "6" - like circle, represent the feet of part iron, part clay, the divided kingdom.

In my speculation, the head of gold, or Age of Gold in not counted, so the three circles below the top one would represent the three steps or stages. The "feet" are like a "half-step," to indicate the critical "three and a half," the midpoint of the chakras type of symbolism. Interestingly, the shape also looks somewhat like "11:11."  

The bottom glyph is somewhat like a heart, or it could be turned upside-down to look like a mountain across the earth. This is the fourth step, when the Heart chakra level of consciousness evolution is achieved by mankind.

The crop formation inspired another idea. Sometimes, it seems, a great earth change is indicated in seven steps. For example, a dream-coincidence involving the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades suggests a change happening at the seventh point. Nostradamus C10, Q74 also suggests seven -

"The year of the great seventh number accomplished,
it will appear at the time of the games of slaughter,
not far from the age of the great millennium,
when the dead will come out of their graves."

The verse is especially significant now, as the end of the millennium is quite near. Two Quatrains before this one (C10, Q72), the year "1999 and seven months" is mentioned.

In Nebuchadnezzar's other dream in The Book of Daniel, a great tree was cut and banded, which caused a period of insanity for seven years. Some say these are "prophetic years" of 360 years each, for a total of 2,520 years, giving the starting year of the Apocalypse as 1914, when World War One began. A cycle of seven steps is suggested. Daniel 9:27 says a covenant with many was made for one week, and for half of the week the dessolating sacrilege would come. This seems to suggest seven steps, with the first half (three days and a half) being negative experiences.

In Pablo's great dream, "35 years," and "other seven of psychological liberations" are mentioned by Krishnamurti. This seems to suggest the "three and a half" symbolism, but the "seven" is not entirely clear. Most likely, perhaps, it refers to the seven chakras, but it may hint something about seven steps.

The idea that came from the crop formation above, is that one could count each pathway, as well as the circular areas. Again, the top circle with ring is not counted. The first step is the first pathway, the next circle is the second step, and so on. The "6"- like circle is the sixth step. The seventh step is either the pathway below the "6"- like circle, or perhaps the pathway and the "feet"-like projection. The bottom glyph is either the eighth or ninth step, depending on how the the upper glyphs are counted.

Such counting makes some sense, and could help resolve some of the other discrepancies in various prophesies. Some, for example, speak of a fifth world, age or step as being major. In this case, perhaps the top circle would be included, so that the fifth step represents the Heart chakra level. Various prophesies may be valid, even though the numbers do not match exactly.

I looked up Old Sarum in the dictionary, thinking there might be some other clue about the meaning of the crop formation. I found "sarum use," with the definition -

". . . [Sarum, ancient city near Salisbury, seat of the bishopric (1075-1220)] the form of the Latin rite first used in the Salisbury diocese, the prevalent form in England before the Reformation"

Latin rite is defined as, "the Latin liturgy used in the Roman Catholic Church"

Ligurgy is defined as -

"1. prescribed forms or ritual for public worship of any of various religions or churches  2. the Eucharistic service, esp (Divine Liturgy) in the Orthodox Eastern Church"

Eucharist is defined as, "1. same as Holy Communion" 2. the consecrated bread and wine used in Holy Communion"

Finally, Holy Communion is defined as -

"any of various Christian rites in which bread and wine are consecrated and received as the body and blood of Jesus or as symbols of them; sacrament of the Eucharist, or the Lord's Supper"

The location of the crop circle formation, if indeed it was meant to me a clue, certainly fits well with the theory about the meaning of the formation. Personally, I do not believe many church teachings, but it seems to me that the basic meaning of the Eucharist ceremony has validity in the sense of becoming Christ-like, or joined with the "body" of Christ consciousness.

Old Sarum is about two miles from Stonehenge. It is thought to date back to 300 BC. The cathedral was built in 1092, and was dedicated in honor of the Blessed Virgin. Marian worship and the cult of the Virgin within the church, is thought to have originated in the fourth century. Some say that the people in those times had a need to worship a Mother Goddess. The apocryphal, second century, Book of James, was one source of information in this regard. At the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus (Turkey) in 431, Mary was declared "Theotokos, Mother of God."

Sarum Research Group

The Old Sarum association with the Virgin, is, of course, significant to this series of articles. The Christian Virgin Mary is considered by many to have the same symbolic meaning as the other Great Mother Goddess figures, such as Isis and Ishtar. The Woman With Child in Revelation 12 also seems to symbolise the Goddess. In Part One of this series of articles, I pointed out that the "three and a half" time cycle is indicated in two verses of Revelation 12. The Woman is taken to a place during the cycle. Joseph Campbell said that the virgin birth symbolizes the birth of the Spiritual Man out of the animal man, and is achieved at the Heart chakra. The Woman With Child has a crown of twelve stars, perhaps suggesting The New Jerusalem and the Heart Chakra, which is symbolised by a Lotus flower with twelve petals, with a Star of David inside.


The Greek Ages and Nostradamus

In this series of articles, my original intent was to report the various events in sequence, as they came to me. In this way, the "coincidences" have their proper import. However, such a story tends to loose continuity, so I altered my plan somewhat. The few paragraphs below are "out of sequence," but are best reported here.

Around 1995, I read Edith Hamilton's Mythology, Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes. On page 69, she speaks of the Greek ages of gold, silver, brass and iron. As with Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream, and the Hindu Yugas, the ages proceed downward from excellent to worse. The brass race loved war and violence, and destroyed themselves. They were followed by  godlike heroes who later departed to the isles of the blessed.

The fifth race, the iron race, is now upon the earth. Their nature has too much evil, and they never have rest from toil and sorrow. Edith continues -

"As the generations pass, they grow worse; sons are always inferior to their fathers. A time will come when they have grown so wicked that they will worship power; might will be right to them, and reverence for the good will cease to be. At last when no man is angry any more at wrongdoing or feels shame in the presence of the miserable, Zeus will destroy them too. And yet even then something might be done, if only the common people would arise and put down rulers that oppress them."

In 1996, I became interested in the Hale-Bopp comet. I found that a number of Nostradamus quatrains seem to refer to a comet. Century 2, Quatrain 46, is one of them, and it also speaks of the ages -

After great trouble for humanity, a greater one is prepared
The Great Mover renews the ages:
Rain, blood, milk, famine, steel and plague,
In the heavens fire seen, a long spark running.

Century five, quatrain 41 also speaks of the ages -

Born in the shadows and during a dark day,
He will be sovereign in realm and goodness:
He will cause his blood to revive the ancient urn,
Renewing the age of gold for that of brass.

Now back to the story in its general "sequence."


Glastonbury and The Holy Grail

In the fall of 1993 I received the newsletter of the California branch of the Center for Crop Circle Studies (Issue 2, Volume 1). There was an article on page 9 titled, "Proximity of Crop Formations to Sacred sites," by Angelo Gabriel. The article spoke of the ancient sites in South England, where most of the crop circle formations had appeared. The location is in Wiltshire, a county about 45 by 60 miles in area. It had been a center for UFO activity since the 1960s. The ancient sites, Glastonbury, Avebury and Stonehenge are part of the larger "Wessex triangle, where most crop formations have occurred.

Stonehenge is the best-known site. Eighteen miles north, are Avebury and Silbury Hill, which are also well-known ancient sites. Glastonbury is to the west of Stonehenge. From the map, it appears to be about 35 miles away. Crop circle formations often appear near such sites; and in some cases, right next to them.

The Saint Michael ley line is one of the most significant. This is a major line of energy that is detected by dowsing. The Saint Michael line runs through all of the ancient sites listed above. The ley lines cris-cross the landscape. Ancient sites are said to be located at crossing points of the ley lines. Crop circles are also found on crossing points.

Angelo pointed out that Glastonbury is very special - 

"Glastonbury is one of the holiest places in England and has both strong Pagan and Christian traditions. Many believe it to formerly be Avalon, the Island of Arthur and Morgan. Near the foot of Glastonbury Tor, is a wild garden containing Chalice Well, into which many believe the Holy Grail was thrown."

Angelo tells how the water of Chalice Well is thought to have medicinal qualities. Continuing -

"Glastonbury Abbey, (only the charred remains of which stand today) is believed to be the oldest in Britain. It was built by Joseph of Arimathea, a rich Jew who believed in Christ but feared to confess it. Imprisoned for forty-two years, he reportedly survived by drinking water from the Holy Grail which fell into his possession. Upon his release from prison, he traveled to England and founded Glastonbury Abbey. When, according to legend, the Grail was lost, Arthur and his knights began their quests.

Glastonbury Abbey is reportedly the final resting place of Arthur and Guinevere. History confirms that in 1278 their remains were moved from the south side of the chapel and placed in a black marble tomb during a ceremony attended by King Edward I and Queen Eleanor. Sadly, this tomb did not survive the dissolution of the abbey in 1539."

Although these stories may be mostly legendary, I felt they were extremely important. My experience with the Old Sarum crop formation seemed symbolically related.

Back in the late 1980s, I had read a book called, Holy Blood, Holy Grail. .

July 14, 2004 Update

In June 2004, a crop circle formation appeared near Fossano, Italy, that has a similarity to some of the images on this page:

Some twelve years ago I drew some designs as part of a hand-written essay. I sent it to two crop circle researchers. The article was dated June 1, 1992. I drew seven symbols that were eight-fold types, most of which had a four-fold shape in the center. I wrote about the idea of overlapping four triangles of the Barbury Castle type, as mentioned above. I drew these three diagrams (A, B, and C) on a sheet of paper, scanned in here:

I drew illustration "A" by making cardboard cutouts based on the 1991 Barbury Castle crop circle formation. I placed the cutouts on the paper and traced the outlines. I also propped them up into a pyramid shape in order to get an idea of the forshortened perspective.

Note that part of illustration "A" looks like the new crop circle formation that appeared in Italy. Illustration "D" below, left is the same illustration as "A" with certain parts erased to show the similarity to the formation. A diagram of the formation is on the right, below:

Symbolic reflections on the crop of Fossano

Beyond to the alignment with the points cardinals, they detach the three basic geometric shapes immediately: the circle (to the outside), the square (suggested from the four inner circles that are found on its you concern) and the triangle to us (ce are two, an equilateral one and the other isoscele, obtained taking advantage of like tip the circle centers them).

E' impossible to observe the formation without to recognize to you Sends it, variation of celebre the alchemica image of the here reproduced macrocosmos:

The main differences of the Crop di Fossano with the image are the absence of the two vertical connectors "Lapidea" and "Aquatic" and the movement towards the high of the circle centers them, correspondent in the image to the Quintessence.
