| 8-17-04 - DREAM - I was in my old apartment building
that I moved out of in 1996 on Jackson St. in Milwaukee, WI. I noticed
that all the lights were out in the hallway near the lobby so I went
towards the office and saw that the office was closed and the door was
permanently sealed off with a metal sheet.
So I went to the basement to the maintenance room. Across from the elevator in the basement, there was an orchestra sitting on chairs, but they weren't playing - they were idle. I went on down the hall to the maintenance room and found the entire maintenance crew, office personnel and the owners. They were having a meeting. I didn't recognize any of them and they seemed hostile besides. The owner was wearing an odd shade of orange-brown suit. He had dark hair and a moustache. I had thought about offering my services as Manager of the building, but after seeing them and their faces, I couldn't like these people if I tried. As I woke up, I heard a telephone ring once in my right ear. I asked for a message if there was one. I began seeing dozens of white panels of abstract shapes passing in front of me. I looked to see if there was any shapes I could recognize. They were all abstract and I wouldn't recognize any one of them a second time. They resembled Picasso shapes except that Picasso shapes were
distortions of real objects and nothing on the panels were anything -
not real letters or numbers or objects - just total abstract
shapes. |

| 8-18-04 - I was sitting in a car, talking to my
friend Michelle on the phone, telling her my dream that I didn't want to
bother writing down, when an old white haired man walked next to the car
on the driver's side. (I was sitting on the passenger side) He was
talking about golf to another guy and was going to put his putter in the
back seat of the car and then he said to the guy, "As you know,
putters change."
(At this point I was awake, and I could actually hear his voice in my ear. ) While I was hearing his voice, the real telephone rang and it was my friend Michelle. Before she could say anything, I told her I had just been sitting in a car talking to her on the telephone and an old white-haired man had come by and put his putter into the back of my car and had told another man, "Putters change.! She said, "This is what I just dreamed: I and Paul were living in a hotel and the light was dim in the hallways, so Paul put a red glass Tiffany lamp out in the hallway hanging from the ceiling. It didn't make it very bright and it glowed red. Then our teacher came over and told Paul to take down the red lamp from the hallway because it looked terrible. Paul took down the red light and was going to hang it up in the room and the teacher said, "No! Don't do that. I'll show you where the switches are so you can turn on the lights." So, the teacher opened the mirror and behind the mirror were all the light switches. I noticed that everything was reflected in the mirror but myself. The teacher said, "The switch to the TV is back here too, but you don't have to use that one. There is 'NEVER' anything worthwhile on TV - EVER!" I said, "You mean there is never any good Sci Fi or movies on? The teacher said, "No!" The teacher left and Paul put on the TV to see what was on and Star Trek was on. There was Spock, but he looked human and didn't have his Vulcan ears. I asked, "Where was teacher going that he had to leave?" Paul answered, "He was going to play golf!" I asked, "How do you know that?" Paul answered, "He was carrying his putter!" |

| In 1987 a golf buddy gave me a copy of Michael Murphy's
classic book, "Golf in the Kingdom." Having an interest in
mysticism, this book profoundly changed my understanding of golf and how
the game touches my soul. Through the archetypal golf teacher, Shivas
Irons, Murphy's writing helped explain the many extraordinary,
mysterious experiences I had as a golfer: "being in the zone",
feeling tremendous freedom and joy on the golf course, sensing the
mystical presence of God. Golf in the Kingdom helped me understand how
golf has always played an integral part in my spiritual journey.
I have come to appreciate golf as a key part of my spiritual life and practice. Over the years golf has served as a kind of "touchstone" which has kept me in contact with some of the most important parts of my life. Golf continually calls me back to learn more about myself and the beautiful world we live in. Golf puts me in touch with interesting people. Some of my closest friendships have developed with people I have had the privilege of playing with. The golf course calls me back week after week, year in and year out. Each time I return to the golf course, I get the feeling that I am returning to my true self, checking in with my soul. On the first tee I reconnect with the spirited golfer inside, full of hope and expectation that this round of golf will be a great experience. Golf has become an amazing adventure of self discovery. If you have an interest in spirituality, I would encourage you to consider the lessons you have learned through your time playing golf. Reflect upon the role golf plays in your spiritual journey. | The toughest lesson for me on the golf course comes
from keeping score. For an infrequent player, I can hit the ball pretty
far on my tee and wood shots. What really bothers me is those booming
drives count just as much as those short two-inch putts. No matter what
size shot, they count equal. The spiritual lesson from this is very
important. Some people believe that what they have to offer the church
is too insignificant to make any difference. If you make food for
someone who is sick or whose family member is in the hospital, that is
just as significant as the preacher giving the Sunday sermon. All some
people have to offer is prayer, but we don’t realize or understand the
power that is released when we pray. Everything we do to serve each
other, even if it feels like that two-inch putt, has a significant
impact on the body of Christ.

| 5. The PANOPLY of the War
In Greek, the word hopla means "pieces of armor," whereas panoplia is the full suit. The Christian has full protection. No piece is missing - you are fully protected Full armor. Put on, says Paul, the full armor of God. - it is the armor of God, not our inherent abilities to ward off the devil and be a successful disciple - in the sphere of the bowling alley, they provide the shoes and the balls; at Putt Putt, they provide the golf balls and putters - unless you are like me; in the sphere of the heavenly struggle, God provides the materiel. Commentary on Ephesians 6:10-18(Read Ephesians 6:10-18) Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our spiritual warfare and suffering. Those who would prove themselves to have true grace, must aim at all grace; and put on the whole armour of God, which he prepares and bestows. The Christian armour is made to be worn; and there is no putting off our armour till we have done our warfare, and finished our course. The combat is not against human enemies, nor against our own corrupt nature only; we have to do with an enemy who has a thousand ways of beguiling unstable souls. The devils assault us in the things that belong to our souls, and labour to deface the heavenly image in our hearts. We must resolve by God's grace, not to yield to Satan. Resist him, and he will flee. If we give way, he will get ground. If we distrust either our cause, or our Leader, or our armour, we give him advantage. The different parts of the armour of heavy-armed soldiers, who had to sustain the fiercest assaults of the enemy, are here described. There is none for the back; nothing to defend those who turn back in the Christian warfare. Truth, or sincerity, is the girdle. This girds on all the other pieces of our armour, and is first mentioned. There can be no religion without sincerity. The righteousness of Christ, imputed to us, is a breastplate against the arrows of Divine wrath. The righteousness of Christ implanted in us, fortifies the heart against the attacks of Satan. Resolution must be as greaves, or armour to our legs; and to stand their ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Motives to obedience, amidst trials, must be drawn from a clear knowledge of the gospel. Faith is all in all in an hour of temptation. Faith, as relying on unseen objects, receiving Christ and the benefits of redemption, and so deriving grace from him, is like a shield, a defence every way. The devil is the wicked one. Violent temptations, by which the soul is set on fire of hell, are darts Satan shoots at us. Also, hard thoughts of God, and as to ourselves. Faith applying the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation. Salvation must be our helmet. A good hope of salvation, a Scriptural expectation of victory, will purify the soul, and keep it from being defiled by Satan. To the Christian armed for defense in battle, the apostle recommends only one weapon of attack; but it is enough, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It subdues and mortifies evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise within; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from without. A single text, well understood, and rightly applied, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary. Prayer must fasten all the other parts of our Christian armour. There are other duties of religion, and of our stations in the world, but we must keep up times of prayer. Though set and solemn prayer may not be seasonable when other duties are to be done, yet short pious prayers darted out, always are so. We must use holy thoughts in our ordinary course. A vain heart will be vain in prayer. We must pray with all kinds of prayer, public, private, and secret; social and solitary; solemn and sudden: with all the parts of prayer; confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favours received. And we must do it by the grace of God the Holy Spirit, in dependence on, and according to, his teaching. We must preserve in particular requests, notwithstanding discouragements. We must pray, not for ourselves only, but for all saints. Our enemies are mighty, and we are without strength, but our Redeemer is almighty, and in the power of his mighty we may overcome. Wherefore we must stir up ourselves. Have not we, when God has called, often neglected to answer? Let us think upon these things, and continue our prayers with patience.

of Golf
THE SYMPHONY OF GOLF CONNECTION A golf course has 18 holes, the front 9 and the back 9. 18 is half of 36 which is the Gematrian base number. 18 times 24 = 432, a Gematrian sacred number. A startling microcosmic revelation of the mystic force of the number 432 came to light recently when engineers in the Wilson Sporting Goods laboratories testing (for distance) golf balls with anywhere from 30 to 1,212 dimples were advised by computer that the optimum number would be 432. For indeed, the Wilson 432 golf ball has been found by professionals to lengthen their drives some ten to thirteen or more yards. The ancient sites around the world are very precisely positioned
on a global coordinate system in relation to the position of the Great
Pyramid at Giza. The positions of the sites are given in the geometry of
their construction. The 5th Century B.C. trading empire of the Eastern Mediterranean
Phoenicians saw the appearance of a writing mode in which alphabetical
letters served as numbers. Even at this early date, however, its roots
were lost in the mists of time. From this base evolved the Hebraic and
later Greek systems of Gematria. Both had reached a high degree of
development by the 3rd Century B.C. 288 = Double light, the Kingdom of Heaven. Even more amazing is the fact that the same system of numbers was used by the ancient Mayans in the West in their very precise time-keeping! The Mayans used a 20-day month in their calendar. Here is a table of some Mayan Calendar units and their equivalent Gematrian numbers :
Joe Mason states: Back around 1992, a strange thing happened. One
night at work the numbers 72 and 360 kept coming into my mind over and
over. I knew about the 72 Divine Names, and I had read that 360 was
called a "Prophetic Year," by certain proponents of the Bible.
It is part of an interpretation concerning the dream of Nebuchadnezzar
in the Book of Daniel. He dreamed that a great tree was cut and banded,
which caused a period of insanity for seven years. This is calculated as
Prophetic Years, giving 7 x 360 = 2520 years. From the fall of the
Temple at Jerusalem, this is said to give the year 1914 as the beginning
of the Apocalypse. I finally stopped and multiplied the numbers coming
into my head. 72 x 360 = 25920. I was startled, because I knew this was
the number of years of the precession, caused by the "wobble"
of the earth's axis, giving us our 12 Zodiac Ages of 2160 years each. In Joseph Campbell's book, he gave the number of years from Adam's creation to the time Noah's Ark landed on the mountain, as 1656. The number of weeks in that period of years is 86400, it is figured. A human heart, beating once a second, gives the same number, 86400, in one day (60 x 60 x 24). Dividing the number in half gives 43200, strongly suggesting the ancient cycle of time number. The number 108 is the number of names of the Mother Goddess in India, and figures in the time cycle number as 108 x 4 = 432. Some months later, I had a dream of a circle divided into parts, and I knew it was about the Gematrian system. It came out to a 360 degree circle, or "Wheel," divided into 10 parts of 36 degrees each, giving the sequence - 36, 72, 108, 144, etc. Full revolutions produce the same numbers with factors of ten - 360, 720, 1080, 1440, etc. The pattern keeps repeating on a base-ten system, so, for example, 144,000 is 400 times around the "Wheel." Each section is divided into 6 parts, for a total of 60 marks. The top and bottom points of the "Wheel" have a zero tangent. Here is a graphic of the Gematrian Wheel as Joe dreamed it:
Some other significant numbers are located at "in-between" points on the "Gematrian Wheel." It could be considered a 20-part Wheel. Each of these points are 18 degrees between the Gematrian numbers, such as 18, 54, 90, 126, 162, 198, and 234. Notice that 54, 126, and 234 all have the same tangent (again, ignoring plus/minus). Check this against the number 666, to see it has the same tangent. 666 is one of the '"in-between" points, being between 648 and 684 on the "Gematrian Wheel." Notice too, that some of these numbers rearranged, and with various zeros, form regular Gematrian numbers. For example, add a zero to 126 to get 1260, or insert a zero into 234 for 2304. Notice also that the "in-between" numbers also add to nine or a multiple of nine, and are divisible by nine. The numbers often show a repositioning, such as 432 and the reverse, 234 (an in-between point), and 324. Such is the odd nature of Gematrian and Gematrian-related numbers. Matthew: 5:14-16 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. In Christ's metaphor, light illuminates what was once dark; it reveals things that were hidden. Though we may be poor, considered old and over the hill, uneducated and obscure, when we live our lives as He instructs, we are a brilliant beacon to this tired and confused world. Our lives can shine a spotlight on the solutions to many common problems experienced by our friends and neighbors. Jesus points out that we should not hide our light under a basket
(verse 15), but live it in the open for all to see. We can set a proper
example of the abundant way to live. We should give everyone we meet the
light of our loving concern, the light of our honesty, the light of joy
and peace, the light of godly family relations, the light of good work
habits, and all the other rays of light contained in God's way. |

Compare the contrary state of unbelieving, the heart being in fault (Eph 4:18; Mt 13:15). Translate, "Having the eyes of your heart enlightened" (Eph 5:14; Mt 4:16). The first effect of the Spirit moving in the new creation, as in the original physical creation (Ge 1:3; 2Co 4:6). So THEOPHILUS to AUTOLYCUS (1.3), "the ears of the heart." Where spiritual light is, there is life (Joh 1:4). The heart is "the core of life" [HARLESS], and the fountain of the thoughts; whence "the heart" in Scripture includes the mind, as well as the inclination. Its "eye," or inward vision, both receives and contemplates the light (Mt 6:22, 23). The eye is the symbol of intelligence (Eze 1:18). |
